How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The water in the child pool was cool. I don’t know how it is during the winter. We stayed in May and it was bearable. The air conditioning is centralised and you can’t turn it on whenever you wish. Outside temperature was 28. The room was heading West, so in the afternoon it was not nice.
Our stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff is polite and friendly. SPA is very good. We were on HB. The food was delicious and there are many options.

Really enjoyed the SPA center with a thermal pool, jacuzzi, salted swimming pool and several saunas (literally spent several hours there). The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and diverse (with a lot of options to choose from). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be happy to visit this place again!

The elevators are not so smart, but we can live with that. Some of the toys in the playground are broken, they need a little clearance.
Nice and quiet place for rest and SPA. The food was delicious, the buffet was always refilled. The staff is doing a great job. The both pools were very clean as the other part of the SPA facilities. There is a kids room with many toys. We spent a wonderful family vacation.

Too many children in the spa centre which kind of kills the relaxation mood.
Secured parking at the hotel. Nice view over the city and Hisarlaka fortress. The spa centre is one of the best I’ve been to in terms of variety of pools with mineral water.

The room amenities need refreshments. The shower was broken and the electrical cardslot as well. There was a nasty smell from the bathroom.
The pool was big and clean, the SPA centre was well maintained, the food was excellent, dinner a la carte and lots of dishes for breakfast, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Everything was just great!
To start with the great location of the hotel at the heart of Kustendil. Very convenient parking. Spacious rooms, cozy and clean, comfortable beds, big and clean bathroom. Excellent SPA facilities with variety of mineral pools. The restaurant is also very good: the food is tasty and very helpful staff.

There wasn't A/C in the room and it got hot in the evening when we went to sleep!
Great spa! Worth every penny! We were in awe by the selection of the free breakfast buffet. We will be visiting again here soon! Variety of temperatures of the hot tubs/cold water and different saunas at the spa! Clean pool!

For a self-proclaimed 5-star hotel and the respective pricing, it still needs many improvements, especially in the areas of hygiene, cleanliness, maintenance and staff politeness.

Internet connection not working inside the room. Drains clogged in the common bathrooms at the pool. More efforts needed for hygiene and cleanliness.
