How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Did not anticipate needing to provide a cash deposit of 800 levs on arrival so needed to get to a cashpoint. It's understandable to need to pay a deposit but this arrangement needs rethinking because I then had 800 levs in cash as we departed for the airport. No issue getting the deposit back and as I say this process just needs consideration rather than being anything to put people off booking this amazing chalet. .
Great position close to the centre of Borovets and the ski lifts. Very well equipped - space /bathrooms etc great for large groups. Fantastic hot tub and sauna. Would certainly recommend.

The 1000 BGN security deposit...firstly because when it got handed back to us, the chap who inspected the property told us that "normally guests leave the deposit as a tip for the cleaners". It felt like he was really putting the pressure on for us to leave the deposit. Seeing as you pay quite a lot for the villa, and nobody cleans it while you are staying there, we were not expecting this. He then stood and watched us while we decided what to do, which we didn't like. While the bedrooms are really nice...at the time of writing, they didn't have any blinds or curtains. So the street lights shine in all night long.
The property has recently been renovated and looked beautiful, the pictures don't do it any justice. The sauna and hot tub were used heavily and worked well. All the rooms are decorated stylishly and mostly have super comfortable, brand new beds. It's a 10 minute walk from the 4 man lift. The villa is linked to Hotel Moura and so we were able to leave our luggage there on the final day while we got our last minute skiing in and waited for our transport to pick us up. We saw some reviews about the water pressure not being great, this is only the case if EVERYONE is showering at the same time. Otherwise its great and all the showers are brand new and work well.

The towels were old and worn
The reception lady is very welcoming and willing to assist you! She does not understand English but uses the phone for translation so she gets the work done!

the sweetest host! a little bit of a language barrier that was easily fixed with google translate. the house was a bit far from the main hotel zone in Borovets. for us it was perfect and quiet. It is located a walking distance from the lifts. in the house there is a full kitchen with everything needed. really recommend

A little language barrier but with google tranalate we managed to underatand each other

There was a miscommunication between the staff who managed our reservation. I was contacted by 3 different numbers and by 3 different members of the staff, who it seemingly did not communicate well between each other. This caused a frustration between us and the member who welcomed us. He was quite rude. As we were a group, he wanted the person who booked the villa to call and validate the people who arrived, but nowhere in the reservation, nor in the calls I had before the arrival they mentioned that. It is fine as a requirement, but imagine that that person who booked it is not available at the moment as he was not advised that he should call once someone from the group arrives. It would mean that the group will have to stay outside until he does. If I had known,I would have called to advise, but no one mentioned it, therefore I provided the number for the reservation to the other members of our group to call when they arrived. All this misunderstanding and the rude attitude by the person who welcomed us, is the reason we will not book the villa again. Otherwise, the villa is nice and the location is great.

Room was a bit cold, the bathoom very basic (not the most friendly shower). The room we received initially was not looking at all like in the pictures. We changed it with a room, where it was quite cold.
