How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The host made sure that our stay left nothing to be desired. Our satisfaction was paramount for him and he really did go out of his way to show that providing us with beach towels, laundry ,chesset, cable internet and even going so far as to order a new bigger television because we had a playstation with us. Unmatched and unbelievable. 10/10 would recommend and do it again.

Very nice and very clean property! The top apartment with nice balcony and sea view. Fair distance to the beach cca 10 min as expected. Out of the busy roads. Highly recommend!

The accommodation was very nice, extremely clean and super spacious. The hosts were very friendly and both rooms had their own bathroom which was great. Also we had air conditioning in every room and a well equipped kitchenette with a coffee machine.

It was uphill which was a little annoying and we also had to carry our luggage upstairs (not that it is necessarily something bad, just to keep this in mind)

Our room was missing a balcony, unfortunately.
The location was more than perfect, very close to everything you might need and to the center of Sozopol. Our room was not that big, but it was super cleen and cozy, had everything. The hosts were also so kind and helpful!

Amazing apartment, very spacious, great location, very close (about a 10 min walk) to the beach. Super clean, very comfortable beds. The host is super helpful, we arrived early and were given access to one of the rooms we booked, and the second room was ready shortly after. I absolutely recommend this place and will be happy to return.

sound insulation from the outside is rather poor, so being awaken by drunken tourists at 4 am is rather inevitable (ear plugs recommended). I prefer tougher mattress. Kitchen is actually a stove, one pot and electric kettle, but we have not cooked much anyway.

Considering the price it is really a nice place! Very good to stay few days in Sozopol. The staff is really kind and available for everything.

My rating would have been higher if it wasn’t for the bathroom. The showering experience was awful. There was only one tap connecting the wash basin and the shower together so only one could be used at a time. On top of that it was based on a boiler system, so the water would get cold by the time the second person is coming in for a shower. The pressure of the shower head was extremely low. The only time I could use the shower head was if I showered with cold water as only that had enough pressure to turn the shower on. As you try to twist it to the warm spectrum, the shower simply doesn’t work. I am very glad we stayed there for only one night in that sense. We gave up on the idea to go to the beach the next morning, as we couldn’t go through that bathroom experience which was a shame as we really wanted to. Also Since the tap is connected to both, when I tried to wash my hands, the water would leak out of the shower head too and splatter all over my clean dry clothes. This was very inconvenient. Also it would have been great if they provided shampoo and hair dryer since it would be very handy especially in these type of beach locations. Thankfully we had bought our own soaps and shampoos.
The compound/ garden was very beautiful. It was very homely and definitely has been looked after well. Even though we did not use it, there is a sitting area outside in the garden with umbrellas for visitors to sit. The room was very bright and well - lit naturally. It had a balcony with chairs and a drying rack which was very handy. It was very clean and had plenty of furnitures, 1 double bed and 1 single bed. It even had basic cutleries, bowls, plates, cups, kettle etc for people who would want to use it. One of the ladies gave me another towel and another type of blanket upon request since the one in the room was used for winter purposes. They allowed us to leave our bags there for a while after our check out without any problems.
