Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaParking, pulling luggage up the hill and lastly, all of the stairs...way too many. Room was very small This is not a spot for older people like us.

United StatesI cant think of anything I didnt like.
Very comfortable bed, the location was perfect, very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I was afraid the parking would be a problem but you just pull your car up to the front door take in your luggage them turn right and go down the street about 100 ft and pull right into the parking garage. It was 18.00 USD per day. Be prepared that you may be on the third floor with no elevator. I packed an empty backpack in my big suitcase and put 3 days of clothes and left my big bag in the car. Sometimes you have to improvise! All worth it. Loved our stay.

Canada3 flights of stairs was tough but expected due to location. Parking was tough had to park 10 minutes away but could park close to unload into room for 15 minutes. Room was not as big as expected but had old style feel to it which is nice for the old Quebec location and theme.
Great location. Easy walking access to everything we wanted to do. I would stay here again for the location. Staff was helpful and nice.

United StatesShower drained slowly-that’s about all you could find wrong with this hotel Stairs are old and steep, this could be a problem if you have mobility issues
Beautiful old hotel located in the heart of Quebec city fantastic room with a view of the mountains and the city couldn’t ask for a better location and an excellent staff. In the afternoon you hear the bells of the Basilica chiming, makes you think you’re in Europe . Rooftop deck for drinks with a slight view of Hotel Frontenac

CanadaWhere to begin! This was our first time staying in Quebec City and Hôtel Marie-Rollet was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We loved the old, European feel and the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly and most importantly, accommodating. The location was so central to restaurants, cafes, museums, sites and we enjoyed every minute of our stay here. There are a lot of stairs with low railings, which is something to beware of but we did not mind this. The City Hall gardens are right across the street and if you get lucky, you might get to enjoy some live music, like The Saxman! We will now always stay at Marie-Rollet whenever we come to visit Quebec City.

CanadaAbsolutely gorgeous building. The attention to detail with the beautiful decor was very impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They accommodated our check-in an hour early so that our young children could get settled. Everything was very clean. The location couldn’t have been better, we had parking 30 seconds away, we could walk to all the hot spots within minutes, yet it was still peaceful and quiet in our room.

Canadajust an FYI , so many very steep stairs to drag luggage up to our room . I understand it’s common for that period of architecture, but if it was mentioned in the ad I clearly didn’t read it .

CanadaThose stairs, entering off the street are difficult to maneuver...holding the door open and taking luggage in (and out). The doors are heavy, the stairs are extra steep.

CanadaThe locatio is perfect. It is right in the core of old Quebec City. The room is the old European style with antique furnitures, yet with modern technology. The multilevel public parking garage ($17.5 for every 24 hours, very reasonable) is within 3 minutes walk. MacDonld's for cheaper food is within 5 minutes. Great place to stay.
