Interior of elevators very tacky with textured wall paper where it should be a dark wood to match the lobby.

Elevator interior not in the condition I would have expected for such an hotel - poor paint job and scruffy.

The woman at reception and the restaurant staff were excellent!

Parking was too expensive. I feel it should be included in the listed price for your room.

I loved the older style of the building, it gave off a very elegant vibe. The bellman was well dressed and very welcoming. The front desk staff were informative & friendly.

Overall feels like it needs a good coat of paint. Elevators feel like they are in a low-income building. One elevator was under repair but there were no signs so no one knew why it took so long. There was a piece of artwork actually missing from our room - with hooks still there we informed front desk who also found that strange.

Great location, staff is friendly. Food in dining room is good. Rooms are clean/well kept other than needing repairs and basic upgrades.

The tub was small. Comfortable, but it could have been bigger

I would have liked a more robust seafood menu, but what I did try, was excellent. The steak in particular was really really good.

Lovely older hotel close to hospitals

The 9th floor room was on the small side - a small closet, no drawers except for extra-wide bedside tables, but not a real problem for a one-night stay. Room heating was an issue. When we turned up the temp, the metal electrical baseboard heaters got dangerously hot. The heat didn't reach the small bathroom - because the ventilation in the bathroom was so noisy & couldn't be turned off, we kept the door closed. We mentioned the heating issue to staff, they apologized & offered to send up maintenance, but because of the late hour we declined. We would look for a larger, more up-to-date room if we stay again.

A lovely old-style hotel, with a beautiful lobby. Underground parking was accessible from the hotel, and a doorman was helpful & welcoming. Desk staff were very friendly & helpful, and attempted to deal with a room issue quickly. Great view over the adjacent park. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant. The location was very good for our medical appt at QEII (walking distance). Lots of small restaurants & cafes in area. We stayed one night.

Sunday night the last night of our Stay my Wife took out our dog for a late night bathroom and had to dispose of a poop bag. The girl working the front desk was extremely rude. My wife asked if there wa a garbage can outside to dispose of the bag since she had not taken our dog that late at night and on the street so she was unsure where to get rid of the bag. The staff member was like you can't leave that here it will smell up the lobby which is common sense but the front desk worker was just rude and unwilling to help. The saving grace was the very nice doorman working that night that came over and said he could show and escort why wife to dispose of the bag.

When we first got there everything was great, the staff were friendly and courteous, also the room on check in was great as we had picked the Exec Suite. our stay was going great my wife it was her birthday and was surprised by the Hotel with a Bottle of red wine and a Birthday card and Gourmet Popcorn.

We loved everything about our stay at the Lord Nelson. The only thing we wished for was signage to navigate the maze getting to and from the parkade.

I have stage 4 breast cancer and walk with a cane. There were areas I couldn’t navigate easily, up to the mezzanine washrooms once when friends were visiting, lower parkade (maybe there was an elevator but I couldn’t find it!) someone could spend more time looking at this.

History, attention to detail, having the restaurant/pub is so handy, love the nespresso coffee, turn down service, location close to everything. Great parkade too!

    Nothing.

Loved the old fashioned feel of the hotel. Our first room was not as expected from photos on line so managed to change. Next room fabulous. Bed super comfy. While not in centre of town hotel was only a 10 minute walk and near lots of shopping and restaurants. Staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Woken up at 830am to housekeeping staff attempting to enter room, if the lock wasn’t across door they would have entered completely.
