Great place to stay in the quiet mountain town of Wengen

Views of the Lauterbrunnen valley were excellent. The meals were varied and very tasty. Staff were helpful and the shuttle up to the train station was a godsend with our suitcases. Location for hiking trails is ideal.

Dinner options were not to our liking. Its located 4 blocks away from train station - all down fairly steep hills. For someone out of shape, it's a real effort to get to town from the hotel. Wifi worked, but had low bandwidth.

Outstanding view and balcony with small, but efficient room. Nice little couch and desk in the room. Breakfast was just OK by Euro standards in this price range. Wengen was a good location for us.

We stayed in the exact room we did 5 years ago, and has not been updated since then. It could use a freshen up. But overall, we were not in our room very much anyway.

The location is outstanding! We love the hospitality! We feel like we are family!

Hotel Alpenrose far exceeded what we expected. Dinner was put on every evening for 20 euros per person—a four course meal every time, with a meat or a vegetarian option. The location was close enough to town but far enough away that it was nice and quiet. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. We talked to many other guests that have been going there for years.

The hotel is situated downhill from the train station. Getting there was no problem, but going back up may be challenging for some. The hotel happily offered the 2 minute ride in their vehicle, (my husband was grateful as he recently had a hip replacement.)

The care and quality of service was outstanding - met our expectations, and then some! Loved the cozy common areas - as pictured, but even better in person! We enjoyed 2 excellent dinners (4 course/20 Swiss Francs) - amazing deal! Highly recommend.

The room was a touch on the small side, Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss from our room (possibly due to it being located right at the end of the building.)

Nice breakfast, lovely selection of breads. Hotel offer a free taxi service up to the train station which is very helpful considering the steep climb up from the hotel. Very cosy feel to the hotel. Gorgeous views out across the Lauterbrunnen valley.

The entire hotel experience exceeded our expectations! My grandma and I stayed for two nights and found the staff, shared hotel spaces, restaurant of both breakfast and dinner, and room to be everything we needed and more.

Mattresses were a little too soft.

Best stay in Switzerland! Not the cheapest, but the view from the hotel room was spectacular and half board was the best decision we’ve made. My husband and I have made plans to return next summer and stay 3 nights instead of 2.

Beautiful location with extremely helpful and kind staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable rooms. The communal lounge area was inviting and had multiple groupings of comfortable sofas and chairs to relax in. Breakfast and dinner were both very good.

No hot water flask provided.

The staff was friendly & helpful! They have a mini van to pick us & send us when we check in & check out. That extra service was so so great as we had to go up & down the slope from the train station & I could not imagine doing that with our luggage. The dinner offered at the hotel was great too! It offers good value for money— a full set at CHF 19! And you can grab a fruit on your way out or make coffee or tea & sit at the cozy lobby to enjoy it!! Keep up the good job! I love your hotel!

Everything! Our room was quiet, comfortable and had a great view off the balcony! The staff was always attentive and friendly. The dinners…. varied and delicious! Getting the half-board was a great decision.

Bed a bit hard. Pillows too thin. One day they allow you to use the shuttle to the station, next day they won’t. ( or maybe it depends on who’s on the concierge. )

THE VIEW IS FANTASTIC. Probably the best in Wengen. Dinner was perfect.

The staff may need a little more organisation and training in the dining area but are very kind. Small improvement area.

It would have been useful to have had a fridge in the room. The room was a little small and a bit tired .

The location is great. There are lots of places to sit and relax both inside and out with awe inspiring views of Lauterbrunnen Valley and the mountains.

Would be nice to have an electric kettle and small fridge in the room. This is a minor point, really a wonderful family run lodge.

We loved our room and the fabulous view of the mountains! We loved hiking on the nearby trails and appreciated hiking tips from the staff. We were grateful for early check-in and having our bags held after check-out. The room was very nicely appointed. The bed was large and very comfortable. The shower was great. Breakfast was generous. We were very impressed by the 4 course dinners offered for only 20SF. The staff was kind and helpful. It was wonderful to get a ride to and from the train station. The dining and lounge areas are extensive and beautiful in the best mountain lodge traditions. Lastly, we enjoyed our balcony and the nice furniture on it. We were very happy to have stayed here and hope to return!

We stayed there in the springs. I think it will be really warm in the summer, the rooms have no airconditioning.

The location was great, in a quiet spot in Wengen. Our room had an amazing view of the Lauterbrunnen valley. The staff was really accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were nice. The food was really good, and only €20 per 4-course meal.

Nothing much except that it is a steep walk to the train station however they provide free shuttle service if you do not want to walk :)

the location was really good with awesome view. the breakfast had a good range of food. the facilities looks new and the rooms are very clean and neat. The staff are really friendly
