Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is an old building. And you hear people walk and open doors.
The rooms was big, clean and stylisch. Also the rest of the hotel had a nice atmosphere, nice classical furniture.

PeruA bit noisy being right next to the train station, but this was fine if you closed the windows. Bathroom on the first floor could also do with redecorating.
Excellent kitchen and tea/coffee making facility and very pleasant, large spacious rooms.

United StatesNote that it will be somewhat loud at night being that it is across from the train station. Wish that it was a bit cleaner in the shared bathroom. When i took a shower and had to use the mat, it was damp from someone else using it before. Needless to say I didn't use it but later had to use my towel to wipe the floor after myself. I guess it's to be expected from a shared bath and shower but perhaps investing in providing small towels or mats to place in every room specially meant for this reason would improve things greatly. Coffee machine was not operating. Not making coffee, not sure if I just didn't know how to use it or if something was wrong but all functions and writings were in German so i couldn't figure it out. Another thing to improve on. Post a poster with basic ho to instructions in English.
Great location. If you're reading this and considering this place, pay attention: this bed and breakfast is located right across from the train station ACROSS TRAIN TRACKS and right NEXT DOOR to the small museum called Cerny in the back of the building. Save this for when you're looking for this place. I didn't have Wi-Fi and had to rely on directions from others. Ended up walking all around the area and had trouble finding it simply by showing people the address. Building itself is old, but not in a bad way. you're feeling like you're in the late 1900 movie when you walk through the doors. Old façade but nice and clean inside. Shared bathroom was expected. Kitchen is well stocked and clean. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable.

SwitzerlandMy room had just a small skylight. Personally for me I really prefer a window, but others wouldn’t be bothered by that.
Beautiful big house, and even though near the station I hardly noticed. Excellent value for the price. Super convenient process, all done via messages in the booking.com app. I didn’t even see the hosts ;)

Taiwan1. The soundproofing was poor; our room was right next to a bedroom. I could hear it very clearly every single time someone used it. (Many people used it from 20:00 to 22:00, which is why using the shower after 22:00 was forbidden.) 2. The owner wrongly blamed us for the state of the shower room, which was NOT our fault. We had an awful experience there. The bedroom is a shared one. When we returned around 18:00, the floor in the shower room was already wet. I cleaned it, took a quick shower, and couldn't find a hairdryer. So, I called the house owner, who suggested it might be upstairs. When I went up, I realized that the upstairs bedroom only had a bathtub (which was dry), so guests from upstairs came down to use the shower. (Taking a shower in a bathtub is not convenient.) Many people stayed in this house, and some of them used the first-floor shower room, where we were staying. (I could hear the shower noise every single time someone used it.) My sister and I took a shower, and we made sure to leave it clean. I even mopped the floor. Since I knew the shower room was shared, I didn't even comb my hair in there. Afterward, we went to sleep. My parents didn't even use the shower. Around 22:30, the house owner came and shouted at my parents for the bedroom's condition, which had a significant negative impact on them. Obviously, the bedroom's state was caused by guests upstairs, not us. The house owner insisted it was our fault and didn't listen to our explanation. What's worse, the house owner displayed racism. His comments to my family were filled with racial discrimination. He showed no respect for others at all. There were more than one guest in the house, so why did he insist that the shower room's condition was our fault? It made no logical sense. I understand that he would be upset if he knew the shower room was a mess, but he blamed us only based on his imagination and discrimination, which is absolutely not acceptable.
The location was wonderful. The pubic area was spacious.

Great location. Lovely character and feeling. My wife and I are both architects and enjoy interesting physical environments. Easy to use the well stocked kitchen for meals and particularly for breakfast - delicious cereals made available for guest use, as well as generous milk and juice. Very clean, easy to use kitchen. NetherlandsThe location is next to the station so our room was next to the station, the noise level made me feel like I was sleeping on the tracks! The unbearably hot nights with only a small fan, made it impossible to sleep. We could not open the windows due to the noise from the tracks which were outside of our room :-/
The location was next to the station so good for an overnight with an early departure or late arrival.

NetherlandsThe breakfast is just muesli, milk and coffee. You share the bathroom including toilet (in the same room) with other people. The house is near the railway station, so you feel and hear the trains. And the walls in the rooms are thin, you can hear other guests.
