How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location, veryclose to Aux Vives and VielleVille...staff at Recrption was brilliant,, gave me the travel pass for free and were very helpful and profesdional (especially the young French guy), bed was super comfortable and had everything i needed. The bus to the airport is v close

There was no air condition and no available fans, so it made it very hot and unbearable in the hotel room with 30 Deg C and no circulation of air. The sink was partly broken. The blow dryer didn't work. The minibar fridge didn't work The safe in the room was broken and not working. It took a long time to get hot water in the sink/shower and the water temperature was unstable.
Location of the hotel was nice.

The hotel is shabby. Tiny room. No aircondition. No plagues. Very noisy, both from neighborsing rooms and from outside. Very poor breakfast for too high extra price.
Location. The staff (understaffed) did their best which could not help.

The street below was noisy all night, with a street fight around 3-4am.
This hotel is average. Its location is very nice and the staff was okay.

Room and cleanliness was OK. Shower was poor. Battled to get the hot water to work in the evening. Had to give up on that after consulting with staff to look at it. Next morning, hot water seems to have come through, then when adjusting the shower, it went cold again and was impossible to regulate the temperature. Breakfast was another experience with missing cutlery which we had to ask for. Lights switching off, forcing staff to open curtain to get some lighting in. Finally after 20min, somehow someone figured out the lighting issue. I am being critical this time, due to the high rate I paid for the room for one night, this experience was unmatched.
Wifi was fine. Bed was fine.

The bathroom was totally delapidated, there was no soap holder in the shower, the shower head was broken and could only be used hand-held, the shower doors didn't close properly. The lamp light switches had worn out so that the lamps would not stay on. The Wifi in the rooms did not work. We couldn't control the temperature, This was a 2 1/2 star hotel at best.
The room looked nice. The staff were friendly, but the manager was a nutcase. Right in front of me, he told the receptionist that he would have to pay for any drinks out of the mini-bar himself if there were unpaid drinks.

The heaters were not working. When I arrived at night I was expecting a heated room but it was not the case and I had to sleep in a very cold weather and left early in the morning.
The location for the purpose of my stay was convenient.

no basic things in the room like- water. every room has some basic beverages, No coffee tea point or electric kettle in the room- again basic today. No shampoo, only "mix showed gel", no conditioner. Breakfast was poor- no fresh fruit . no vegetables at all. only one cheese. coffee not fresh and on option.
The location was good, and I got very good service from the reception. The room was big and comfortable.

the room was tired and uncomfortable, like it had not been updated since the 80s. Not even a kettle or a mug. The mini bar was locked as was this weird toiletries display in the bathroom, where they were charging 20CHF for a tiny shampoo bottle.

my key didn’t work and I was told I could get one that works tomorrow. had to have a staff member join me in the lift to let me access my room, that meant I didn’t go out for dinner to avoid repeating the awkward situation getting into my room
