How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing in principle, during our one-night stay.
Hotel is situated around 12-15 minutes from the old town. We stayed for a night so for the purpose of it, it was wonderful. Also, the breakfast offered was satisfying, access to fresh drinking water all the time. The reception guy was a real professional. At the time of the visit, hotel was offering a 24-h free rides with Bern city transportation, so distances were not a big for us. Bed was pretty comfortable.

Our only problem was that the bathroom wall, next to the sofa bed was see through so when you put the bathroom lights on you could see through it so I didn't put the lights on when I went to the toilet during the night so as not to wake my son.
We liked how the staff treated us. They were all really helpful, from helping out with activities, treating us with respect.and generally making ourselves feel at ease and to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The rooms were cleaned daily which I tried to tell the cleaning staff that it wasn't necessary. The location was perfect for us, right near shops and restaurants and the station is a walk away when you know where to go. The hotel give their guests each a pass to travel free on their trams and trains which we used a lot. We would really recommend this hotel and we are planning to come back next year, god willing. My son really enjoyed the breakfast, they have something for everyone.

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Room is a bit small, but clean and practical. Near to Tram and Bus stop, less than a minute walking distance from hotel. Bern City Pass provided is a bonus. Additional info: Bern Bahnhof -> Eigerplatz (hotel location) Take Bus 10 (at Kante I) towards Schilern or Take Tram 3 (at kante J) towards Weissenbuhl.

The bathroom was an annoying layout with a shared door between shower room and separate W/C, so you can only use one at a time. The light in the W/C was on a sensor which was frustrating when popping there in the night. This also meant that you had to come out of the toilet, slide the door and go into the shower room to wash your hands. The space is big enough for a standard bathroom, so a little confused why they would lay it out like this. The TV had chromecast, but despite several times, we could not get this to connect.
The hotel was staffed 24 hours a day and had facilities to store our luggage. Breakfast was included which was pleasant enough. The hotel was new and modern and everything was fresh and clean.

The rooms were a bit cramped, there was no place to open a suitcase, one common door for the toilet and bathroom. But we still liked everything!
Very stylish hotel, modern, always free coffee machine. Customer oriented staff. The center is a few stops by tram/bus, free from the hotel.

Given that I shared the room with a colleague, I felt the bathroom was rather odd. I did not like that the door would slide and cover either the shower or the toilet

Large rooms, very nice design, comfortable beds, quiet thanks to great windows. Breakfast was pretty standard but nice and good quality. The whole hotel has a very modern, nice design, is recently refurbished and offers great value for money. Highly recommended.
