Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe loved the amazing view from the room – absolutely fabulous! The breakfast was nice, I thought it was lovely that they have tea from their own garden. Also, really good storage options for skis and boots. The staff was incredibly friendly, and we felt right at home. We loved the bar as well!

MaltaSeeking to escape from our hectic days and frustrating city lives, we choose to spend NYE in Switzerland to recharge with some winter sports and breathtaking nature views. The experience of staying at Hotel Lauberhorn however, gave us so much more than that. We simply fell in love with the energy of the place, the decor is so lovely, the beds are comfy, breakfast was so interesting with herbal teas from their gardens and homemade Grindelwald food, but above all the service was exceptional. Benny and Conny, the owners of the establishment are very friendly, and they made us feel so well taken care of. We did a spontaneous holiday, and practically visited every place they so patiently explained to us every morning. We definitely recommend staying here, and we will come back when we visit Grindelwald again. We miss you Benny and Conny, and we miss that lovely sauna room of yours! Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

Franceit was a busy weekend in grindelwald so we got the last room available... it was correctly described at reservation time, but we realized that the glass separation wall between the bath and the sleeping room was quite awkward for a couple... i'd personnally change it for a more traditional wall with a door... next time we'll love having any of the other rooms, we just need to book earlier 🙂
very quiet, great breakfast, very welcoming team

DenmarkThe only minor thing (which is also subjective) is that our hotel room is a bit crowded for 3 people. The shower is like an open shower in the bedroom with just a curtain separating you and your travelling companions. The shower space is tight and you have to hang your clothes and towels outside the curtains. I believe it would be fine for a family with small kids but as we are 3 friends travelling together so it was a bit difficult for us.
Super friendly staff, the kind lady at check-in gave us very clear information to get around in the area, and good recommendations to add on to our itinerary. Nice breakfast offered in the hotel, where the staff again are very helpful and keep refilling the food and drinks in the restaurant. The croissants are nice, and you have different choices of jams/chocolate and for drinks as well. Awesome location, our balcony looks straight at Mount Eiger and that looks just so beautiful in the morning. The bus stop to the train station is just in front of the hotel, in winter since there are fewer buses you just have to check the bus schedule (which is shown in the hotel notice board already), and you can go out slightly before to avoid waiting in the cold. You have the basic facilities that you need in the hotel room, and the room is quite clean. Good value for money considering the great location and amazing view.

New ZealandThe bathroom has a glass door which provided limited privacy which would give us second thoughts about staying here again.
It is convenient to getting into central Grindelwald ; walkable but also with a free regular bus service (until 7:00pm). Staff were very helpful. We were able to get out tickets for gondolas, trains etc from them which saved time (and some stress).

CanadaThe hotel is located up the hill, about 20 min walk from the train station. If the bus is not running, it would be quite a walk with the luggages.
We had a room with a beautiful mountain view. The staff were all very friendly. Breakfast had a good range of selections. We were happy with our stay.

United StatesPaid extra for the view but got an old room, but the view was worth it!
We loved the quiet nights at the Lauberhorn, it is a little ways up the hill in Grindlewald but it is at the bus stop so easy to get to the train or high speed Eiger tram from there. The remodeled rooms don’t have a view so you have to choose which is more important for you! The owner is also certified to give paraglider rides!! The beds are comfy and we slept with doors open due to no air conditioning, unusually warm Sept 2023. The breakfast is included and very good! Also the Alpenblich (sp) is right down the street and Uncle Karl’s which are both very good!
