The bathroom was very dated with a tub that could be a problem for anyone with accessibility issues. Unfortunately our room might’ve been the only one in the hotel without a front or back view. We still enjoyed our stay very much.

The building is beautiful, good restaurant, great breakfast buffet, lovely views out the back and helpful, friendly staff. They accommodated us with an early to-go breakfast so that we could go to the DesAlpes celebration in Charmey, which was greatly appreciated.

The bathroom shower was a bit inconvenient with the shower head placement but besides that it was excellent.

Wonderful location right in the center of town. Beautiful accommodations with charming common spaces including the restaurant The room was large with a view! Enjoyed the breakfast Buffett in the morning and loved exploring out back among the hillside gardens. Had one of the best salads on the patio enjoying views of Gruyeres town center. Highly recommend staying!

The button to turn on the hand held shower was broken so the shower could not be used only the bathtub. Also there was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom. The gentleman who was setting up breakfast did seemed to be having a hard time getting the coffee machine working and getting the food set up.

Hotel located close to the parking lot and to the bus stop. The town has cobble stone streets, so you don't want to go too far with the rolling bags. Location was perfect. Breakfast was delicious - the best baked goods in any of the hotels we stayed. They had local eggs that you can boil yourself in a machine provided, delicious croissants and breads, and much more! There is a room to hang out in the hotel where you can make yourself tea or coffee all day long, play games or make a business call if you have to. The front of the hotel faces the busy street which was great for people watching. The back has a private patio and a relaxing area that is quiet and has great views. The stuff was very helpful too.

- No mini-bar/-fridge (I know that other hotels in Gruyeres of comparable price have that!) - While personnel was very friendly indeed, dinner service was a bit sluggish / uneven. - Bathroom without a window and grossly inadequate ventilation. Providing a can of air freshener would help offset this. - NB: After my stay, in one of the follow-up messages from "Fleur de Lys via Booking.com" after I booked, I noticed this message: "Please note that the hotel does not allow the consumption or storage of food, alcohol or soft drinks in the rooms or public areas." I think this stipulation is ridiculous and frankly outrageous, infringing on my personal freedoms, and without any legal merit or basis. I strongly suggest the hotel eliminate it to avoid seriously pissing off customers - I will avoid re-booking this hotel as a matter of principle with this disclaimer in place.

Rooms were really comfortable and lovely. It was nice to stay in a hotel that seemed authentic for the location. Also, we had our older parents with us, and so it was nice to have a good restaurant on site so it was easy for dinner. It is right on the main street of Gruyere, so overall great for the weekend.
