When we arrived, there was no one at reception & we had to check in via a tablet, but it wouldn't allow us to check in due to an error on the hotel's end (after we made the payment via the tablet). There was a message which said to ring a number, but we didn't have a sim to make calls in Switzerland (whatsapp only). Thankfully, another guest came & let us use his phone. This could have been an issue if we didn't see the guest.

The room was newly renovated, lovley decor and deisgn from power outlets to a smart TV. The bathroom was great, and the bed was comfortable. Brrakfast included was good but not a huge selection, however enough. There is a communal area with a microwave and kettle, which is very helpful.

Distance from train station is a lot with the luggage. And there are no elevators. Also, front desk is empty and they don’t respond to the number given in front desk

Rooms are very clean and spacious. Facilities are great. Breakfast is alright. The part we didn’t like was there are no elevators so had to carry the bags all the way up. And it’s around 15 minutes walk from the train station (St. Niklaus station) so be prepared to walk. To go to Zermatt, you need to take a train which takes 50 minutes. And there is a trains every 30 minutes.

After-hours check-in was a little confusing. All of the lights were off so it seemed everything was closed but the door was open.

The breakfast was amazing!! Short train trip to Zermatt. Short walk to train station. It is a beautiful little town.

Property was great but the bin liner was missing in the room and the bed was little bit dusty. Other than that it’s a great accomodation. I would recommend.

Overall a great spot to stay. The place was undergoing some renovation, but even with that, I highly recommend. Rooms were nice - more like a U.S. hotel (depending on your likes - this is good or bad. Grin.) - but quite nice. The dinner was really great, too!

Everything was great, staff super helpful, before we check in the staff even arranged a place in a different hotel for people, because they didnt have a spare room in La Reserve. But they helped people to get room in different hotel. Super helpful people!

Staff run hotel primarily as a restaurant with the rooms as a secondary priority. Hard to find staff when needed - they were super busy in the kitchen/restaurant. A bit of a walk from the train station, and rather expensive.

I really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, but they were not as outstanding as the room and staff.

Hotel La Reserve gave us a recently renovated room, one of the nicest I have every stayed in. Exceptionally comfortable, with a great view, I particularly liked the modern slated bathroom.
