How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I believe the rooms could become quiet stifling in July/August. It was Ok for us, the room had a stand up fan which was useful since we were fortunate to have great weather during our stay.
Excellent location, easy to find from the train station. The reception staff were very helpful and advised on what trams to take to visit the various parts of Geneva. The hotel made contact with us regarding our Geneva passes (free transportation) which was very helpful and useful. Lots of cafes within a close walking distance. The beds were comfortable enough for a short city break.

the pillows were too soft, the shower had no door so all the water kept splashing out, there was no AC only a small fan which was annoying as it was quite hot in Geneva at that time

No. but they has write clearly that only fan provided. so if stay at summer time. you need to consider. Because I stay in early Jun when the weather was turn hot.

the bathroom was small, but it wasn’t too important
everything was great the staffs very friendly and helpful. the location is great extend my thanks to the Arabic guy (who looks like Arab) and to the African lady ( sorry I forgot their names ) for their support and kindness. will come back once again to this hotel

My only suggestion would be to make the coffee machine in the breakfast room available to guests all day. Other hotels provide this service with take-away cups as well.
Lovely staff, very helpful. Room was basic but had coffee machine. Netflix was a saviour on really rainy days.

No air con so room was very warm had to sleep with window open so a little noisy, but didn't spoil our stay. Didn't take the breakfast because we stay in geneva a few times to visit family, found a little cafe we like to use

Too many emails before arrival I think we got everyone twice
The front and breakfast staff. The cleaner got rid of the ants efficiently. The location closr to the train station and boat tour was remarkable The free public transit ticket was another bonus Us of microwave in breakfast room saved us as we bought in grocery store and heated for supper The elevator was well used by us

Not the fault of the hotel but the classic rooms do not have a balcony as stated on Booking.com they just have a window. I was disappointed and the man on reception did his best to accommodate me but they were fully booked. He was able to offer us a room with a very small balcony which I appreciated and took.
Great location, the rooms are comfortable and clean. They provide a tasty and varied breakfast and catered for gluten free. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Arrived almost at midnight (hotel was warned in advance), hotel door is closed and opened by card, night bell is NOT working, had to wait for half an hour until some girls told me I had to go to another hotel nearby cause that's where I am supposed to go late hours (no warning on the door or when booking), room had some issue with the ceiling, nothing serious, just cosmetically displeasing. Was promised that my room will have a single big bed, had two smaller ones covered by big sheets instead.
