Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room got a little hot at times and the shower/tub could have used a bigger curtain as the one in place was only half the size of the tub.
For its age, the property is very well maintained and it was a pleasure to stay there. The owners were present every day and I saw them engage with guests all the time which shows they are committed to their guests and their property. The staff were all wonderful and attentive from the front desk people, the restaurant servers, the bartender, and the porter. The included breakfast was great, the food at Jack’s Brasserie was delicious, and the views from our balconies were beautiful

United Kingdomrooms are really quite old fashioned in decoration, equipment, not been updated since the 70ies. Breakfast can be slow, there is no buffet, you tick what you what on a paper list and waiters bring them out. Waiting time up to an hour on our check out day, apparently a chef in the kitchen who’s never done breakfast before. Thankfully we were not in a rush.
location (would have been ski in if there was enough snow, but for our stay there wasn’t) architecture, character property, nice breakfast room (also ballroom and brasserie in the evenings)

RomaniaThe floor is quite noisy while walking through the room. Also would be good to have a service to pock you up from the train station, since the hotel is up on a hill
The view was wonderful, the rooms are really specious.

United StatesThe place felt quite 'dark' (including not well lit). The room was quite dated (bathroom was nice). Carpets were clean, but very old (worn). I would look for other options before booking again.
Our view was great! Bathroom was nice!

Proximity to train station. The train actually passed in front of our room. The outside terrace and inside lobby/bar was attractive.

AustraliaBalcony is shared with the adjacent room. Was served by an older gentleman during breakfast on the first morning, I sat inside after being told I could sit anywhere, then changed my mind as I saw there was seating outside. I had already filled in my order slip and asked if I could move outside. He said yes that's okay, but proceeded to scrunch up my completed order slip as I moved tables. When I was outside he said I had to complete a new one and didn't explain further. He could have just swapped the slips because they were the same? I was too tired and hungry to argue but it was a very unprofessional encounter. Contrary, on the last day I was served by him again and he was fine.
Solo female traveller stayed for 3 nights in August. Hotel was located close to the train station (<2 min walk), a bit difficult to find at night because of the intersection. Good space for one person and room was the same as the photos. Has elevator access. The view was spectacular. Included breakfast was good mix of hot and cold food (yogurt, eggs, sausages, bread, pastries, fruit, tea, coffee). Friendly staff at the front desk and younger gentleman at the restaurant, provided pamphlets about Wengen recommendations upon arrival. I had left a luggage wheel cover after checking out and they were kind enough to find it and keep it for collection. Bank nearby had a good rate for exchanging euros

IrelandNothing jumps to mind.
The views from our room were absolutely amazing! We had two adjacent rooms with a shared balcony which was a fantastic surprise. Check in was great with a lot of local information and staff were friendly including the hotel dog! The beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served by individual portions of everything ordered and you could have had any amount of the foods on offer. While the hotel isn't the most modern it has a very old world charm and was what I expected a traditional Swiss country hotel to be. It had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. If I were ever to return to Wengen I would definitely stay there again.

RomaniaRoom a bit outdated, no plug close to the bed and no tea or coffee makers in the room ( would be nice to have them in the room to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy a cup of tea). Also, for breakfast there is a paper order sheet and it takes longer time to order and eat it.
Amazing view, close to the train station, nice bedsheets and comfortable bed, clean room. Nice furniture in the lobby and terasse area.
