Unfortunately I was not able to try the restaurant as it was closed for holidays.

The room was exactly the same as the pictures on the site. Greetings when arriving were friendly and informative. The room and bathroom were spotless. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruits, cereals, meats, cheeses and breads. The location close to the train station is very convenient for arrival and departure.

While it was very near the station the walk up is quite steep so keep that in mind if you are bringing big bags or have trouble walking

We brought many large suitcases along a very steep road, it would be much better if there were accommodation assistance. Additionally, we also hope for a more varied breakfast menu.

The view from our room was simply breathtaking. Waking up to the stunning scenery was a highlight of our trip.

The location is very nice and near the train station. The problem is the steep slope going to the hotel if you have big luggage.

They have wonderful breakfast and those serving are very nice and efficient. The front desk are also all very helpful.

We loved everything about the Alpina. Large comfortable room with a balcony, comfortable beds, close in yet quiet location, welcoming hosts, great breakfast. If you have to miss breakfast for an early departure they'll make you a brown bag breakfast, just ask in advance.

Very traditional, family run, small alpine hotel - handy for the station. Comfortable room with good breakfast. Comfy beds but pillows are very soft, though this seems to be a Swiss thing. Incredible Mountain View’s but unfortunately there was a huge crane outside our balcony as the building below was being done up whilst we were there (though that had nothing to do with Hotel Alpina).

It’s just a stiff high road to reach hotel .. just few steps ..but it’s also expected in hill station .

Best place to stay near Grindelwald.. just across the station. Hotel stuff are awesome and breakfast menu is fantastic. Rooms and facilities are as good as big hotels. Recommend if exploring near Grindelwald.

The hotel is close to the station, but you have to climb a steep hill.

The room had a balcony and we were able to enjoy the view. Also, the restaurant staff were very kind and even accommodated dishes that were not on the menu.

The only downside to many of the hotels we were at was the allowance of smoking on patios or decks. I know this is still a "thing" in Europe but it makes your patio or deck very unenjoyable if your neighbors are smoking, which they were. With no air conditioning on hot nights, leaving windows and doors open is a must and smelling smoke from adjacent occupants is not very nice.

Wonderful breakfast, restaurant, local advice, easy checkin and checkout, close to train station and food. We used the hotel as a basecamp for four days of hiking and adventuring from dawn till dusk. The staff is local and the hotel is family owned and operated, making for a very personal experience. The room was plenty big and had great views of the Eiger and surrounding valley.
