How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I do not really have any serious complaint! Maybe two details that can improve the overall rating: - the shower needs to have an anti-slip mat (in my room it hadn't, looking a bit dangerous) - the towel-warmer was not working
I liked the politeness and kindness of the people working in the hotel. The position is really good if you have to go to the close Bülach hospital.

Perhaps a little hot in the single room - we left the windows open but the extra insulation is designed to keep the heat in - that's Switzerland! Also if breakfast had catered a bit more for gluten free meals we might have taken up the offer but as it was chose to go elsewhere.
Restaurant on site was excellent and catered for my gluten free meal without problems. Bed was excellent and they were very accomodating with parking our car as we had to collect our family member very late at night from Zurich airport. Situated in the old town section of Bulach which is very pleasant.

my only “dislike” is that I wanted to sleep in but it seemed to be garbage removal day (??) or so, which meant a lot of activity early just outside my window, which was most unfortunate.
The room and bathroom were spacious by European standards, nicely appointed. There was a good size desk space and the room also included a safe…neither of which I had the opportunity to use as I only stayed one night. Short, east walk from the train station.

Could have done with tea/coffee kettle in rooms.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Allowed a late check out with no extra cost. Breakfast good. When asked advice of local attractions we were told of local waterfalls with printed off info and train time tables. Rooms were spotless with full mini bar and massive TV with all the channels. Array of local restaurants within short walk. Their restaurant was very popular even with take aways.

None, all was beyond expectations
Extraordinary customer service, very comfortable beds, spacious hotel rooms. Very clean, charming. Delicious breakfast, great food and drinks. It is a hidden jewel in a charming town, quite recommendable for a relaxing stay close/far enough from the main attractions and Zurich.

Due to the restrictions in place at the moment you are not allowed to eat in the restaurant without a 3G certificate. However the hotel staff were amazing and took your order for breakfast and dinner and called when it was ready to collect to eat in your room. (no room service) The restaurant and reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. will definitely stay again if I’m in the area. Many thanks 🙏🏻

I have no real complaints. But I would have liked a better choice of channels on the television, with the possibility of different language sub-titles and some good films. I found the choice offered rather poor.
Breakfast very good. Village of Bülach very agreeable. Useful parking places reserved for the hotel. Good hotel restaurant, good pub and other restaurants nearby... Being woken at six in the morning with such a lot of bell-clanging was a bit of a surprise...

I parked my car in front of the hotel arriving at 11pm on hotel designated parking spot. The hotel gave me a fine by mistake. I wrote to them to cancel this as this was a mistake. Instead they forwarded to the police who gave me an additional fine for not paying the first. I am constantly writing emails and calling the hotel who is simply not reacting. I would therefore not recommend this place to anyone due to bad service.
