I can't find anything that disappointed us.

The staff is very kind. The attention to detail is remarkable. The property is very charming. The food is delicious and very traditional. The location is also excellent.

Perfect location in the picturesque village, a short downhill walk to the station, shops, and the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in this historic hotel. Lovely outside seating area where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine, accompanied by the church bells. Attractive bar and restaurant area, plenty of choice at breakfast. Good sized bedroom and comfortable bed. We always look forward to staying at the Schwan!

Some mishaps with the service, requested a cot and didn’t get one first but was rectified for nights 2&3. Couple of small details missing in the room; only 1 mug, no toilet roll. Again small details that were rectified.

A common problem in old hotels is that the power outlet is difficult to access, being partially blocked by the bed.

Room could be bigger and brighter. Overnight air-con noise/ vibration issue.

Location was excellent! Staff excellent. Ambience excellent. Beautiful decorations. Nice and warm! Breakfast was very good- a nice selection of cold and cooked options and nicely presented. Great staff. Ideally would like some butter for bread or toast but maybe this is usual for Switzerland. Coffee nice too. The hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas tree, and lots of lovely touches. Hotel was nice and warm. The staff were delightful and were around most of the time. We had a great welcome and really felt looked after. The bedroom (17 or 19?) was slightly small and not particularly great, slightly dull lighting. However bed very comfortable with beautiful cotton bed linen. Only issue we had ( which staff did address) was that there was a lot of low-level noise and vibration from the kitchen air-con, in the evening and even overnight on first night. This was quite substantial. The staff assured us it would be switched off earlier at night, but I think this possibly needs a definite resolution. If we visit again, will ask for a room in a different position to avoid kitchen air-con issue. We found the hotel a little expensive but good value for a quality experience. We have a very positive view of our lovely stay there. Horgen itself was also delightful.

Clean, charming with style, cosy, friendly and helpful and caring staff, with an unexpected personal touch, excellent breakfast with great variety, centrally located in a pedestrian zone and thus no traffic noise (!), safe, you can sleep with open window, public garage just around the corner, we would go again.

Hotel Schwan is in a wonderful old building converted to a tavern and hotel many years ago. It is presently undergoing an ownership transition, and the new owners are doing their very best to continue to accommodate their guests, and we wish them well. We had great difficulty finding the property, as our (Apple) GPS would not get us close, since it is in a pedestrian area. Better signage and some guidance would help, although my guess is that it's easier to find the location coming from the north. Unfortunately we did not. While there is convenient vehicular access to unload practically at the hotel doorstep, the only opportunity to park is a nearby covered garage which charges a nominal fee. Breakfast was provided and it was ample, tasty and fresh. Their nightly fee (booking.com) was fair and a good value. Our guess is that the very graceful new owners will bring this hotel to a new standard very quickly, but rates may change to reflect that in the future. At present, our room was fine, bordering on upscale. please note that the hotel has several flights of stairs and no elevator. No real problem for us though. thanks for a great stay!

The only thing is there is no lift at the property as it is of a certain age.

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful and location was central for railway station, shops and lake.
