Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThere was a party downstairs that went on until 3am, hosted by the hotel. Impossible to sleep. To be honest, we felt disrespected by this. At breakfast the next morning, no apology. Weren’t even asked if we had a good night’s sleep. Just a few awkward stares from the staff. Pity, as everything up until that point was perfect.
Really enjoyed the cordon bleu. Many choices on the menu. Great local beer. Easy to get to with the bus.

Czech RepublicStylish little hotel in a beautiful location by the river in a beautiful little village high above the lake, far enough away from "civilization". Friendly and helpful owner. A room with very simple basic equipment, sufficient for a short stay or just an overnight stay. Good breakfast, the possibility of dinner at the hotel is welcome due to the distance of the location.

United KingdomWe missed having a cup of tea in bed … and the towels in the spotless bathroom are well laundered but will probably be replaced soon.
Urirotstock is a true alpine hideaway - up a steep winding road to a beautiful small village - where we were made very welcome. Our evening meal was delicious.

Hong KongIsenthal is a quiet small village in the valley. I am amazed how the large public bus can drive into the village as the road is narrow and winding. Our car was stopped (the road was blocked for unknown reason) for nearly 1 hour when we left the hotel the other day.
Very nice and friendly host family. Traditional wooden house. It exceeds our expectation at this price in Switzerland. Free Parking onsite. Highly recommend.

United KingdomWe would have appreciated a slightly wider range of dishes on the dinner menu, but we understand that the hotel offers very regional food.
This traditional hotel is set near the top of the village of Isenthal - a very picturesque and quiet village located in a beautifully scenic valley about 12km from the motorway. Access to the village is up a narrow twisting mountain road, but once there you cannot help but admire the beautiful scenery. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful, including with our dog. We had a room at the rear of the hotel which looked across to the fields and to the mountains beyond. The room was basically furnished, but with everything we needed for a single overnight stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was particulalry good (hot, powerful, etc.). Even in August, the heating system was slightly on, giving a very pleasant background warmth in the room. We had dinner at the hotel, and if you like pork, you will be spoilt for choice in the range of such dishes on the menu. After dinner, the hotel owner (Ruedi) enterained the guests with his accordian playing. The choices available at the buffet breakfast were excellent (local butter and cheeses, fresh bread, home-made jams, meats, yoghurts, fruit, excellent coffee). It is a shame that we weren't staying long enough to take advantage of the walking from the village, or to be able to use the area's distinctive cable cars. It is a walker's paradise!

NetherlandsThere was no fridge. Towels were really old like used more than thousand times. Double beds were made of two single and there was no piece to merge them so there was a gap between them.
Staff and view were excellent. There was a river in front of the room. We were worried about the noise, however, we slept like a baby. Better to checkin before dark because the road is tricky.

Amazing views around. There is a river just next to the hotel and we were worried about the noise but we actually had the best sleep during our 2-week trip! There is a nice terrace in front and we could have our breakfast there. The restaurant serves local food with a good portion. ;-)
