How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The soundproofing is not great, I was awaken early by people talking/shouting in the street below. Note that there's no breakfast served at the property (but options for Chinese food close-by).
The hotel is perfectly located, just 3 minutes from the bus shuttle to the train station and 2 minutes from the river. The room is modern, clean and comfortable. Veronica was super helpful via Wechat, she speaks perfect English. Overall for the price, the value is exceptional.

Nothing we didn‘t like
It’s a very nice little hotel in a side street of Fenghuan, but around the courner of the main attraction. You don’t get the full tourist noice during the night. The hotel owner is amazing, speaks perfect English and helps in all ways, she can.

The water collected in the shower.
It's easy to reach, located in the centre of the old city with many restaurants nearby. The staff gave detailed information about transportation. Nice room and clean.

The stay was great, the host was extremely helpful before hand in sending information on how to get from the train station to the hotel. And they offered us a free room upgrade on arrived. The rooms were clean and large.

Great location near Qifeng Tourist Centre/bus station. Walking distance to Hemu House. The hotel location is of easy access to the Rainbow/Red Bridge and all attractions within Fenghuanggucheng. The room is clean and nice. Definitely recommend for other travellers.

Noise level from the streets especially when tour groups start early in the morning.
Location is good as it's within walking distance from the bus station and is near to the river and main attractions. Veronica is very helpful to guide us to her hotel by showing us various photos. Veronica speaks good English to communicate.

Great location very close to the river and main attractions but far enough to be quiet. Veronica was very kind to help us with anything we needed. The bed is very comfortable.

Hotel is within walking distance of the center of the city. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was delightful, lovely size for two people. Would definitely stay again.

Clean and comfy room, beds were very soft, which is rare in China. Staff spoke fluent English, she was very accommodating and helped us in every step. The night show was incredible. Central location, close to the river and attractions.

Location was great, walking distance to all main streets and away from the noise. Room seemed like newly renovated and was very clean. Bed was very soft and comfy. Air con worked very well. The restaurants and attractions recommended by Veronica were amazing.

All good!
It was a great spot. The hotel was just renovated one month ago, the room was clean and comfy. Would definitely recommended! The english-speaking staff was very friendly and helping, went out her way to assist us to move from Fenghuang to Guilin.
