How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was nothing that I did not like.
The entire complex had the feel of an Italian piazza with a Cafe, Italian Restaurant, health & beauty boutique, along with a bar and casual eating area adjacent to reception. The rooms themselves were very spacious and well equipped whilst the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. The included breakfast was also a combination of local and continental offerings and helped start off the day perfectly. Considering the price per night, my stay at the Hotel Estelar La Fontana was one of the most pleasurable hotel stays I have experienced in my travels.

Maybe renovate the gym a bit, make it newer
Just a perfect value for the price! The hotel is very luxurious, clean and impressive in its appearance. The facilities of the hotel are great - the courtyards, the restaurants, the gym. In my opinion, a hotel like this should cost much more in relation to the value it gives. Great location in the north of the city, right next to a big mall. Because we loved it so much - we are coming back again for a vacation at the hotel in August.

they make your stay difficult. we book 4 days and added 2 days before and 3 days after. same exact room and they make us moved 3 times to give us the exact same room. ugh

Rooms lacking microwave and a kettle. I just wished i could heat up some ordered food and make a cup of tea. Also I Called prior to my Stay to confirm if i could check-in @0200 but they were not clear.
Beautiful friendly staff. Great location yo shops and buses. Secured. Good internet. Great breakfast and a restuarant on site. Staff were polite and helped me navigate despite my limited spanish.

Our room didn't have a hair blower. We requested one and it took them two days to provide it. One of our friends had requested laundry service and it wasn't delivered as promised. Little details that could have been avoided. We all thought it had to do with understaffing due to the COVID pandemic.
The location is excellent. The place looks great, excellent lobby space, clean rooms. We requested a change of room since the one assigned looked dated and some of the furniture was in bad shape. We were assigned to another area that was much better. The breakfast buffet was excellent!! The staff was very friendly. Transportation to and from the hotel was excellent and the drivers were very friendly and willing to please.

The hotel is a large complex with very spacious rooms, great amenities such as the gym, bar and restaurants. It was a very short walk away from Unicentro shopping mall, and good driving distance to many other popular areas of the city. The staff were super attentive to our needs, very welcoming.

Restaurant menu choices, As an traveling USA citizen, Italian fair is good, but a menu based solely on this region lacks ingenuity and most hotels and restaurants moved past this offering over a decade ago. No offesne to you or the Italians.
This was my second stay at this Hotel, it is an exceptional property and the employees are fantastic to work with, subtle, professional, friendly, always smiling and asking what more they can do.

Room temperature, for some reason, was not confortable. It was too warm. Apparently there is no A/C.
