Positive section of review
Location was perfect, very spacious room with beautiful view overlooking the river. Spa was great, Pool was nice & warm for autumn, warmer than neighbouring hotels we visited so kids enjoyed themselves. Wifi is top notch! Very clean apartment we loved it.

Laundry facilities could be better - single washing machine on floor is tiny & needs regular cleaning. Noise from neighbouring nightlife - a chance for soundproofing?. Not enough blankets in the family room. 2 double beds, yet 1 bed had nothing more than a sheet for cover & no extra in cupboard (nitpicking here, but we were there in Autumn & both nights were cold!). Not a fan of the parking - no lift access on entry level to parking, overflow doesn't have direct access to room via lift @ $15 a night we've paid nothing for better in the area).

Our balcony was facing toward the ocean so we were able to see the sunrise from our bed, balcony, room... We had oven, dryer, washing machine. Soundproof facility so were able to relax even we were in the city!!

WE enjoyed everything believe or not... The only "problem" Gold Coast is far from Montreal and still expensive to go there but the prices are "Canadian" so no surprises... No tipping at the restaurants was a very nice experiences!

Location is very convenient. Free parking but parking spots are limited. Nice and clean room.

Staff in the breakfast room were surly, unhelpful and service provided was poor. Breakfast was relatively quite basic considering the room rate charged. Bed was either very soft or broken. I woke up with neck muscle strain! Front desk staff should be educated more about the hotel. Breakfast room and front desk staff are the key people to help with running a successful business. In this instance, it's a hit and miss, unfortunately, for a historical and exceptionally beautiful hotel.

Evidence of rodents with droppings on kitchen bench and floor in morning unfortunately. Neighbours had loud gathering Saturday night but was over by 10 pm, we realise this was out of the control of the hosts. Could not get hot water to kitchen sink. Boiled water for washing up.

Room was dirty and dusty, the bathroom was very smelly, blanket on end of bed had burn marks on it, window frames covered in dust, dirt, spiderwebs and bugs. When brought up with staff they didn’t know what to do and after a suggestion of maybe it is the drains that smell they dropped off a spray bottle 90mins later with vanilla essence in it. Cups, plates and cutlery were dirty and a note was on table saying if you don’t wash up the dishes in the bathroom sink there will be a $20 fee charged and you had to tie off your bin bag aswell. Tv had Netflix but the internet didn’t allow for that to work. We spent most of our time at Bunnings down the road in the cafe and playground for the kids. When in the room all of us were non stop sneezing. We would’ve left but there was no other accommodation available as the whole reason we were there was for a dance eisteddfod and everything was booked out. Never again will we stay and we’ve let all the other dance parents know of the conditions as to prevent them from making the same mistake next year. Not to mention the guest next door was a heavy smoker and sat just outside our door smoking which constantly came through the old glass loovers in the bathroom.
