Staff were wonderful, pleasant and helpful. Did not catch all their names, though. Joseph was brilliant and helped us with the bus routes. It is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Perfect location to explore York.

Islestone House is a warm spacious well equipped house which is ideally located in Seahouses. It is a brilliant base for either a family or 3 couples due to its 2 lounge areas, 3 bathrooms plus a downstairs toilet.

Islestone House is a 9/10 property. For a perfect score it requires a deep clean, a touch up on the decorating and new kitchen worktops.

It had parking and was close to the hospital. There was milk, cornflakes, bread, eggs and bacon available. When asked the staff carried my bags up to my room and back down when I left.

The kitchen was closed between 10pm and 7am. Not good if I wanted a drink or snack at night. There was no fridge in my room. The tea towels were dirty and not changed. I requested a room on the ground floor due to health reasons and I was given a room 2 floors up with no lift available. The train going past was noisy.
