This was truly the greatest B&B we stayed during our roadtrip through Ireland. The room (entire floor with bathroom) is very spacious, clean and offers a nice view on the seaside. The house is located a bit off the road in a quiet area. Both hosts are very kind, welcoming and provided a delicious breakfast in the morning. We would definitely come again!

  • Glamping in the 2nd Field

    Aughrim, Ireland

    Average review score: 9

We made our own breakfasts and there is a well thought out small kitchen pod and an attached bathroom. Martin is simply a great host and couldn't do enough to see that we were comfortable and gave us clues about sites to visit in the Wicklow County.

For elderly people venturing out into the night air to go to the loo was a challenge, but then we appreciated that this was what 'Glamping' was all about and I think we will look back on this stay as the most adventuresome of our trip. The site is very well planned and at night the moment you stepped outside lights came on.

Great location. Great owners. We had a little fridge in our room, plus a fan. There was a nice sitting area for us to use downstairs and I loved our king-size bed. There was also a kettle, with tea and coffee in our room.

Wifi in our room was zero. Our room was very very small. We needed to put our luggage in the bathroom.

Location was good . Close enough to pubs and cafes. Town is central to the region for tourist attractions because we had a car.

  • Berehaven Pods

    Castletownbere, Ireland

    Average review score: 9
    • Positive section of review

We stayed here the previous year and love the set up of the pod and location as it’s right on the coast.

Introduction of ‘charges’ to people if they stay past 10am on checkout or if they don’t wash the dishes and take the linen off of the bed. This wasn’t there last year and while it didn’t affect us this year as we followed those requirements, it comes across cheap from the company and cleaners, that we have to empty bins, wash up and take linen off. You’re paying to be away from home and away from this work. Why would you make your guests do chores they want a break from, you’re being paid by us for this responsibility as a host. We wouldn’t leave the place in a mess but why are fees being threatened for this type of work? Can’t get behind that. We also didn’t have a BBQ this year and every other pod had one, we had one the previous year. Not sure why that is as 8/10 of the pods were empty at the time of our stay?
