Our last-minute decision to book a stay at sinharaja turned out to be one of the best choices we made during our trip. This hidden gem offered an experience that was both unique and unforgettable. The natural beauty surrounding villa is simply breathtaking. The presence of wildlife, like peacocks and monitor lizards roaming freely, added an exotic touch to our stay, bringing us closer to nature in the most enchanting way. A standout aspect of our stay was undoubtedly the culinary experience. It was here that we had some of the best food during our entire trip. Each meal was a delightful exploration of Sri Lankan flavors, expertly prepared and beautifully presented by ama.

This hotel tries to give it's guests a little luxury experience and it does not disappoint. The staff, all of them, go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble and to be honest we felt a little guilty during some of our requests. We are simply not used to being treated in such an exceptional manner. A huge thank you to the hotel manager and all of your staff. Definitely a hotel that I'd love to return to. It is in the centre of town next door to the Temple of the Tooth. (It would be a great place to watch the Perahera.)

Absolutely nothing. Only thing I might suggest (and this is by no means a criticism), is that the evening meals could be a bit more creative. The sushi is a good start but the rest feels a little like 'fast food'

Palm Paradise Cabanas & Villas Beach Resort

Third visit to the resort, which has been upgraded and now includes some luxurious villas, a second restaurant and a pool. Staff provided their usual excellent service, The villa was huge and fitted really well with the surroundings. Though the sea can be quite rough in this area of Sri Lanka, being in the middle of nature makes up for it. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, freshly prepared and tasted great. Breakfasts were very healthy. Would not hesitate to return again.

Guests need to be aware that their is no 24hr desk. Problems occurring at night are unlikely to be resolved until the following morning. An example would be when our AC stopped working one evening. Though it was a simple fix in that someone had flicked the outdoor switch to 'off' no one was available to remedy this until the next day.

Beautiful place and exceptional views. Serving dinner on the beach every evening is a wonderful experience! There is also an amazing spa on the other side of the road + exceptional restaurants situated walking distance from the hotel! Food at the hotel is very good but always nice to try something else and support local people!

Lack of air-conditioning could be annoying sometimes. Also remember that it is not 100% closed so you should expect frogs and lizards in your room (which is part of the fun).

The view of the train from our room was beautiful, it was so quiet and peaceful, we loved our 2 night stay. The owner Dave was so friendly and welcoming, we would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Ella.

Very nice place, where the donkeys are well treated (and visitors as well). Very good and local food (we had breakfast & dinner there). The staff is nice and halpful.
