Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIncredible hotel! It has everything - a gym, spa, multiple pools, games room, mini golf course, restaurants, bars, its own wildlife trail where you can see multiple types of monkey, sloths, birds, lizards, and more! The hotel also has complimentary shuttles that go to the beach and Manuel Antionio National Park. All the staff were friendly and professional, and you got a fantastic combination of luxury as well as being truly immersed in the surrounding wildlife. All food served throughout the day was exceptional, and we loved the half price cocktails in happy hour! Would definitely recommend!

CanadaCertain spots around the property could use a little more love but truly I had a really wonderful time.
Really amazing and considerate staff. The whole resort is stunning and lots of fun easter eggs and treats around the property. Easy to coordinate transport, amazing tour! They did something really special for my friend's birthday and their app system for comms is sick.

United StatesIt's quite a hike back up the road to the room from the beach. But it's the terrain so what do you do.
We stayed in Room 3517. It was exquisite and we had amazing views, complete with a spa tub on the deck. There was even a sloth right outside our room door. The breakfast, wildlife, nature walks, beach (the walk isn't too bad and they have golf cart shuttles), pools, simply wonderful. There was even a small restaurant right below our room (stairs right outside the door), seemed like we had our own personal waiter (Hebdor? He was awesome 👍😎). He played the best music and provided personable attention. Loved it!! You won't regret it.

Costa RicaFotos wasn't spectacular but it was good and there were lot of variety.
We enjoyed a lot the pool, there are many of them. Room very clean, views were fantastic and location is spectacular, the end of the street, so it is very quiet.

Location was amazing , the walk to the beach is well worth it. The sounds of the animals was super special and the view off our balcony allowed us to watch the monkeys play.

United StatesCheck in included so many instructions I felt a little overwhelmed at first. But a quick walk about and I got the lay of the land and enjoyed everything. We were a little underwhelmed by the night tour for the price.
This resort is beautiful with several pools and wonderful walking paths. A couple of the pools were adult only which provided a relaxing area to read and cool off. The property is stunning with abundant wildlife - saw howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, sloth, frogs, and crabs. The restaurants were great and reasonably priced. The included breakfast was large and included an omelet station. They provided beach towels for the pool.

United KingdomPrices in restaurants a bit too high in my opinion. There was a little noise in our room, which was coming from next room fridge (at least that’s what we think). It happened multiple times at day and night and didn’t last for too long but still annoying.
Luxurious and comfortable. Pools are amazing, most of the stuff very friendly. Rooms were clean, service was good. Restaurants very nice but a bit pricey, also the cocktails.

NetherlandsAbsolutely nothing. This is really worth a 10.
This was such a dreamy place. Everything is so well arranged! The staff is super friendly (thank you Randall for the excellent service in La Galería!) and will do anything for you. The rooms are spacious and the kingsize bed is great. It’s also very clean. The resort is well maintained and the property is beautifully landscaped. We have spotted beautiful animals around the hotel (scarlet macaws, sloths, monkeys). The pools and pool bar are great. We loved the option for an adult only pool.

ChileNothing particular... maybe having a designated playground area for small kids with slides and swings, etc? Maybe there was and never saw it? The hotel is fantastic
Amazing hotel. The facilities are great, clean, and well maintained. They have areas for adults and for families, which is great (we were traveling with 2 girls 1 and 3 years old). The animals that live within the premises of the hotel are also fantastic: you can spot sloths, monkeys, raccoons, hawks, and others just by walking and keeping your eyes peeled. I'd stay again here.

United StatesThere were plumbing issues in our room (water was tepid, not hot and the toilet handle needed shaking to flush properly) but the excellence in all other aspects (and the fact that cool showers were not a hardship in the high heat) made this a minor aspect.
This resort is superb. The staff is amazing, the facilities are maintained in perfect condition, the spa is fabulous and the location and view are stunning. It is possible to have a full vacation without ever leaving the site (but of course, you will because of the amazing attractions of the area). We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the Pacific coast, with monkeys and parrots playing in the trees. The pools are lovely and it's just delightful to sit on the porch and watch the sun set over the ocean. Truly a magical place. One lesson learned--driving and parking is very difficult outside the resort, so it's far easier (and less expensive) to have the Parador arrange an airport shuttle instead of renting a car.
