Beautiful location in the rain forest with a view of the Arenal Volcalno..Near to the La Fortuna waterfall. Staff were really helpful and friendly. My daughter, who is 12 years old, loved the frog sanctuary and was also lucky to see toucans and other birds. We enjoyed dinner with live music at the weekend.

The dinner was delicious but expensive.

It looked exactly as seen on their website. It was stunningly gorgeous and extremely comfortable. Our room felt immersed into the jungle, which was exactly what I wanted. The staff were extremely friendly. The food was incredible. We loved the accessibility to La Fortuna but far enough way to be removed from the chaos. There is a very short walk to a gorgeous natural waterfall that is definitely a MUST see! During our stay, we felt as though we got a glimpse of the natural beauty and culture of this beautiful country.

Can't fault it!

This property was absolutely beautiful. We stayed here for 10 nights, and couldn't have picked a better spot. So close to the waterfall and right in the heart of nature. We woke up to the sound of toucans most mornings. The place overall was so quiet – I didn't put my headphones on once because it was so peaceful listening to all the wildlife. Even when it rained (and it will, you are in the rainforest!) there was areas undercover to sit and enjoy the sounds. Esther, Jay and the team were very friendly and made our stay excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent at breakfast and we ate at the restaurant on two nights which was also delicious (tax and service charge was not included in price for food and drink, but reading other reviews I knew this ahead of our visit). There was a little maintenance/building work going on, but they kept the noise to a minimum and seemed to be very conscious of this. We visited Costa Rica for the rainforest and animals and we couldn't ask for more - on the morning of day one, there was a sloth in a tree and two toucans calling and we'd only stepped out of the restaurant. The free frog tour was excellent also and a must! Even spotted one sat by the pool at night. Close to La Fortuna town - easy enough to get Uber's in and out of town as well both day and night. Would highly recommend Tifakara!

The food could have been a little better, the breakfast in particular. There were a lot of choices but not to my taste.

Location was perfect. We had a wonderful night from walk with Randall our first night. The staff is very accommodating, always willing to help and provide information. Randell in particular was a great source of information! Our unit was very private, quiet and comfortable. The property is beautiful!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Immersed in lush tropical grounds, full of lots of flora and fauna. The restaurant food was very tasty with a great breakfast. The staff went above and beyond with making our stay extra special, with room decoration and also with information on things to do in the area. Only a short uber ride into La Fortuna and a very short walk to the waterfalls. Definitely recommend it.

Nothing .we should have stayed longer as this was the best place we came across in Costa Rica and plenty of activities in the area.

Everything. The gardens were fantastic, teeming with birds and frogs . Randall’s frog tour was a highlight. So much knowledge and genuine care for the animals shared with the guests. Room was spacious and practical, the outdoor shower a treat.

Staff was exceptional. I would especially like to recognize Esther for her service, so friendly and helpful. She made you feel so welcomed and valued as a guest. Dereck was also wonderful part of the restaurant staff (food good too!). Kudos to Josue at the front desk too who did a great job. I love that this is a little outside of the business of Fortuna. Feel like you are in the rain forest but still close enough to get to most places in town within 6-10 minutes. The room was more minimalist but knew that going in and it matched what was advertised. Really enjoyed sitting on my balcony watching all the birds. Thank you for a great stay!

Rooms are on the smallish side and you are in the rain forrest so it does rain.

This a quirky property very near the Waterfall attractions. The Hotel staff were excellent at organising things for you recommend the Sloths Coffee and Chocolate tour as well as the hanging bridges. The food was largely very very good. The room / chalet is well appointed even with the outside shower. The pool area was great.

We loved it, nothing to complain about.

The staff was incredibly welcome, friendly and always willing to help. Special shout out to Jay who was super nice, very attentive and helped us practise our Spanish by talking slow to us. The location of the hotel in the jungle is breathtaking and secluded. There where many animals to see like birds, frogs and lizards. The food was absolutely delicious and everything was very clean. We can 100% recommend going here!

The bungalows - at least those nearest to restaurant - feel a bit dated. But have more charm than the more modern sister hotel in La Fortuna. Besides ceiling light there was only one table lamp by the beds - not enough light to read by - unless you have an e-reader.

Fabulous location set right by rainforest. The property was a bit aged compared to some more recently built - like is sister hotel - but has ‘soul’. Nature surrounding bungalows feels grown and natural - not recently planted to create an ‘environment’. You can see the trees and plants and birds right from your balcony - or room. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food fab and reasonably priced.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Food was excellent for breakfast and dinner. The grounds were beautiful with frog garden that was home to lots of tree frogs. Rooms are nestled into the forest, with wonderful outdoor shower and great balcony.

The use of cleaning products that leave a strong smell which stays in the room for a while.

Great location next to Fortuna falls, good facilities with a pool and spa, umbrellas. The food whether for dinner or breakfast was excellent and varied. Very helpful staff. One of the highlights for us was the opportunity to do guided night walks on the property.

Staff are great, welcoming, respectful. This place is clean, wonderfully placed within nature. Wildlife all around, free frog tour, the gentleman who took us on the tour was great, very informative. He made the experience special.He needs to be on National Geographic! LOL But otherwise they provided complementary beverages and cookies. Clean hot tub and pool. Dinner was AMAZING. I mean cooked to perfection. Room is nice and clean, wonderful outdoor shower. I recommended staying here, it’s well worth the money. We had a wonderful time.
