The property is on a busy road. There is street noise, but we didn’t find it terrible. We could hear the cows as well (with their bells), but it was a bit charming to hear. Also—there was no soap/shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom. Fortunately, we brought our own. There was a hair dryer.

It is a charming guest house in a nice location. The room was a bit dated, but still very comfortable.

Beautiful guesthouse- our room was charming and comfortable. We also had a delicious breakfast in the morning. Staff was very friendly. The location is beautiful and a quick drive to Oberammergau.

The staff were okay, minus that one of them decided to complain loudly to all guests in the breakfast room about another guest (knowing they could not understand German) and I found this highly unprofessional and not necessary.

Location was great for what we needed, the bedroom is basic, has a old decor vibe but has everything and the bed was very comfy to sleep on.

The guest house was good value for money but certain facilities were lacking. The bathroom was a bit small and bit too small for taking a shower. The rooms did not have hot water for drinking or to make tea or coffee. The bus to Garmisch Partenkirchen from Ettal runs at a low frequency so it might be possible to run into some waiting times if traveling by public transport. The breakfast timing was also between 8 and 9 AM. This could have been earlier.

Very comfy guest house with an antique theme. The building style and decoration is very resemblant of 19th century architecture. It is located at an excellent location among the mountains and has an excellent view from the balcony rooms. Rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast room was very rustic and the breakfast itself was very appetizing and fresh. There are certain open fields nearby which offer a clear view of the mountains. Visit here for the fresh air, view and quiet village atmosphere.

I liked every thing but a few things would have enhanced our trip a bit further. - Having access or ability to make a cup of coffee or keep a cold drink would have been great. - Having soap for hand, hair, body washing would be fantastic. This appears to be trending as cultural in Germany.

This hotel is lovely! The beds, linens, decor, view (from our room) location, parking....fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there for the Passion Play in nearby village/town and this hotel was perfect. And, they had the most beautiful and healthy houseplants I've ever seen! I support several vacation rentals in Hawaii and I'm very selective. This is a beautiful property and I would highly recommend staying here. sandy@kona101.com

Local Red Buses were often late. Hardly no taxis available. Driving your own vehicle allowed you more mobility, otherwise your stuck with the red buses.

Location was good for the seeing the Passion Play. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious and big. Bathroom was contemporary and updated.

Didn't like trying to be palmed off with an inadequate room (we had 5 rooms booked) as one of our 5 rooms. They did sort it however. The guy behind the desk wouldn't engage with anyone and it felt like he didn't want to be there. The two female staff were fine. Property maintenance a bit overdue.

We were quite disappointed. Upon arrival, the host (and owner, I am guessing?) was very rude, didn't even greet us and talked to his colleague about us in a very rude way (probably didn't know we can understand German). We got a room in the basement (1 floor below the reception), the room itself was okay, but there was mold on one part of the wall and due to that the whole room smelled really bad. The bathroom was however renovated and was nice. The only good thing about the accommodation is a lady who is helping the owner, she herself is very nice and helpful. Otherwise, we definitely wouldn't recommend this accommodation.

* I absolutely HATED staying at this Gastehaus!! Where do I start, oh yeah, the the nasty, grumpy, penny pinching owner of the Gastehaus. He literally barged into our room, no knocking or anything. Then proceeded to yell and point his fingure at us . He doesn't speak any English, so I didn't understand anything he was saying, but I think it was that he was upset that we were eating a snack, and I guess he doesn't want guests to have any food or drink in their room. Anyway it was utterly disgusting, upsetting and uncalled for how we were treated!!! * The traffic noise at night when your trying to sleep is ridiculous, so we had brought just a small little fan so we could close the window and not be hot at night. Well this didn't go over well with the owner either as he proceeded to point and yell about using the fan, rubbing his figures together to signify that it was costing him money to run the little fan. * The bathroom is so incredibly small it's hard to move around, don't expect towels or toilet paper to be replaced, and there are no toiletries. Breakfast was terrible and is only 1 hour from 8 to 9. So if you want to sleep or have children it is extremely inconvenient, and definitely not worth getting up in the morning for. * To top it all off we had a family emergency and had to leave early and they basically told me there was no way they could refund the nights we didn't stay, so that wasn't very compassionate of them. * I have read reviews where the owner has been very unkind to those of other ethnicities, refuse to turn the heat up in the winter when guest told him they were cold, and barged into another guests room with small children, started yelling and frightened the children. * PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! You will ruin your vacation and waste your hard earned money. I cannot stress this enough, FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY!!! I don’t want anyone else to go through this experience.
