How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was small but definitely adequate for a short stay. The main downside of the rooms is that you could hear noises from other rooms, but not too bad.
Very nice staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was also very good

Nothing -- if you don't want to pay for the conference rooms and spas you never use in a large hotel, the Metropol is perfect.
Our room, a junior suite,, was a nice size with a room divider separating the bed from a sitting area with a couch, chair and small tables. The bathroom was large with plenty of shelf space.and lots of instantaneous hot water. In our 8 day stay, the maid cleaned and changed the bedding twice, but clean towels are always available whenever you want them from a supply shelf on the second floor.. Breakfast was included in our room rate. There was a wide variety of foods, and the staff kept every thing fresh. Coffee and tea are free and freshly made in the lobby at any time . Thei location is very convenient -- a block from the main train station with many of the subway and street car lines connecting there and plenty of cabs at any time. Maybe not the prettiest part of Munich, but the Metropol is on a quiet street just far enough away so that we were not bothered by street noise. The best part of the Metropol, however, is the wonderfully helpful and pleasant staff. We realy felt we staying with friends who just happened to have a lot of extra rooms to share!l

Very convenient to the main rail station for public transport on the S Bahn to Munich Airport and beyond. We were there for Mothers Day and the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel…first rate offerings of every variety and nice coffee to fuel our adventures. Hotel is easy walking distance to the Marienplatz and we walked also to the Deutches Museum and Eglisher Garten so in short, very convenient location. A special shout out to Thomas at the front desk who was ever cheerful and helpful…I felt like Count Rostov at the Hotel Metropol in an eponymous reference to Amor Towles book A Gentleman in Moscow. A surprising and delightful stay…we will return here when back in Munich!

Considering how close it is to the station, it is very quiet. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve ever seen. All staff members were so polite and helpful.

We did the breakfast there one morning. If we were real "breakfast people" it would be very good. For what we wanted it was a little on the expensive side.
The location was excellent, close to the train station which was the main reason we chose this property. The staff, especially Anna at the front desk was exceptionally welcoming and willing to answer any and all our questions. The room was clean and anything we need such as towels etc were all conveniently located and available.

Bedside Reading lights were poorly designed, and did not cast proper lighting for reading in bed.

The hotel is a little gem. It's very close to the train station but on a quiet side street. It was very clean. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic.

Large room, good bed, nice touch with a fairly good coffee machine in the lobby, excellent breakfast buffet, very good reception. Room was mostly quiet, there were some humming sound every now and then, but not often enough to be a nuisance. Excellent place to stay if you want close access to train station.

Because of location close to train station it wasn’t the most affluent area, felt safe, but note for other people. However, the location so reflected in the cost. Closer to old town would cost a lot more.
