Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt really feels like a business or conference hotel more than a place for vacationers
Amazing views and very comfortable beds. The staff is most pleasant. The restaurant is worth it.

GermanyThere were 2 young boys when we came to the hotel at the reception area, we didn’t feel welcome from them at all, we came half an hr early so they told us to wait in the cafeteria, they simply didn’t inform us about anything like breakfast time, swimming pool or sauna or anything abt the hotel, we had to ask abt everything ourselves later on the day, maybe they r not used to having brown people at the hotel or they r just inexperienced, all other staff besides these two were very friendly especially at breakfast area and at the restaurant
The hotel is in a very beautiful place on top of a hill, the hotel itself is an ancient castle type hotel with many interesting things from the past, the walk around the hotel in the vineyard area is absolutely refreshing with amazing views of Würzburg

United StatesGetting to the property without a car can be very difficult if traveling with suitcases. Hailing a taxi in town can be difficult but the hotel staff can help.

GermanyPart of the building was being renovated so there wasn’t a lot of services available. To get to the room you have to walk through the dining area which is awkward. Waiting for someone to show you to your table is weird because you have to wait by the kitchen door for someone to walk by.
Great walking location, and rooms were in an old castle/mansion. Beautiful views, and dinner and breakfast was delicious.

NorwayFor me personally it would have been nice with a gym, since I am a fervent gym goer. However there are nice walking opportunities in the hotel area.
Very nice hotel, extended old castle. Modern, spacious room with a view over Würzburg. Good restaurant, with stylish dining possibilities and excellent breakfast.

GermanyFor the room, the only thing we can say is air conditioning is needed. We used the fan while were there. Then on the second day, we both got sick. The room is warm and we are not able to open the window because of many bugs outside coming inside the room. But all in all, we enjoyed our stay and when given a chance would love to come back.
Breakfast is great we loved it. The view from our room is excellent and we are very happy about that. Managed to use the pool and Sauna and it was amazing. We do appreciate the gentlemen at the front desk who checked us in. When we request to use the pool. He was very helpful and said will extend it for another hour for us to use it. Kudos to him sorry forgot his name.

United StatesRestaurant on site has only 3-5 course menus. Nothing else. Quite expensive. Rooms are not very sound proof, i.e., you hear all the noise from the hallway..

United StatesIt’s quite isolated and the food is a bit tricky. The café serves à la cart but closes at five in the dining room is a fixed price menu that runs around €80 a person. I’m sure the chef is great but that’s pretty steep. I did eat in the café for dinner at 4:30 PM which was fine for me, but might not be for other people definitely a weakness in their offering.
it’s a unique place. A castle feel. It was a bit deserted and a little eerie for a solo traveler since it felt a bit like you were all alone there. very modern and clean rooms.

GermanyI was disappointed in the thin comforters on the beds ( no extra blankets available in the closet) and the cappuccino at breakfast. It tastes watered down and not what I expect in a 4 star accommodation.
You definitely can't beat the location in the vineyard. The room was beautiful and clean.

AustraliaI noted 2 faults The evening meal was no longer a menu choice and was a set menu only 4 or 5 course We had the 4 course at 84 euro extra for drinks Im not a big eater so asked the next night if i could have just the main from there set and was told no ,So we ate in town the following nights. No tea and coffee machines in such an upmarket hotel and did not make up room each day very poor excuse blaming Covid, whilst travelling for the past 6 weeks this was the first time this card was played.
Obvisouly the view over the surrounding areas are fantastic This is our 2nd time here and enjoyed it once again The hotel is very well kept and clean. Rooms were great we upgraded to a room on the new section. Staff were available and had excellent customer communication

GermanyI was not told on check-in that the mini bar was included, I would have loved to have had a drink. It is a shame when you pay that amount and the little things are missed. Also being an older room it was not as clean as I would have liked, I know older homes are hard to clean but that would have helped with the spider problem. I have never seen so many spiders crawling around the windows, that I had to sleep with all the windows shut. Dinner was another issue as I was travelling alone I didn’t want a 5 course meal but there was no other option.
The view was well worth the stay. I loved the look and feel of the hotel and room. I would definitely stay there again. Lunch and breakfast were fantastic with the most amazing view and great serve both times.

IrelandI was given a single room as the hotel was nearly booked out at the time of booking. However, it didn't seem that busy when we arrived. My room was in the old part of the hotel, and the room was tiny with no air conditioning, making it uncomfortable in the heat. We arrived on BMW motorbikes and went for a beer straight after checking in. We were in our biking gear, and very hot. When we asked if we could sit at a table with a view over the town, we were told that this was impossible as they were all reserved. We got a table outside against a wall. The waiter took forever to bring our drinks, and it seemed like he looked down at us as we were on motorbikes. After freshening up, we came back down and sat at the same table. A lovely girl served us, and we asked if we could have a table at the front with a view. She said they were reserved but could see what she could do. Thankfully she gave us one of the reserved tables. We decided we didn't want a large meal, so we asked if we could have some German sausages from the menu and a cheese board with meats and crusty bread. These items were not on the menu. The waitress said she would ask the chef. She returned and told us that the cold meats and cheeses were required for breakfast the following morning, and we could not have any. The following morning we had a late breakfast, and we were some of the last people to leave. There was so much cheese and cold meats left over that they could have fed half of Wurzburg with it. What a shame the staff let the hotel down with poor service and an attitude that the customer was a nuisance. Also, the reserved tables at the front with the lovely views. Well six of them were empty for the whole evening with no customers yet they all had reserved signed on them. Dissapointing to say the least.
The outdoor views were lovely overlooking the lovely town of Wurzburg from the hilltop where the hotel is built.

CanadaEverything was lovely, as with many other places I think these more elegant rooms should provide more pillows automatically. Also the balcony needed some attention and cleaning. Would have made it that much more beautiful to have the area clean and some flowers
