Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Turkey- The reception is on the 4th floor, it's not useful at all (actually with this very small elevator). - Avoid room number 100: it is in the parking lot, you enter as a pedestrian, with the cars. An it's just near to the kitchen of a restaurant; you'll have grill and frying smells everytime you enter and get out of your room. Also a little bit noise but the beds are far from the kitchen.
The room was big and it was like on the photos. There are restaurants in the street and a bar just near the hotel is open till late hours.

GermanyNothing, other than the few things not related to the hotel.
This hotel was central to where we needed to be for an appointment. The rooms ( we booked two rooms; one double and one single) were both good and comfortable. There was a large school group of teenagers at the hotel, who were somewhat noisy. Not the hotels fault, I know, but kids being kids these days, were oblivious to their surroundings. Blocked passages, chatting right in front of the breakfast buffet, etc which detracted a bit from our enjoyment. Again, I stress, not the hotels fault. I most certainly would stay here again. Parking was available at the hotel at €25 per night. There were streetworks. There is also a Departmental store close by and they too provided parking. There are many eateries in this area, so having a meal was no problem. I enjoyed looking at some of the hotels old features. Beautiful.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaNo ventilation in room, especially in toilette. Our room was on last floor, and staircase is not suitable for hotels (spiral and hard to climb with suitcases).
Location is great, plus there are some excellent restaurants in neighborhood. Nice bar below also. The quarter is good, safety for guests is OK.

SwitzerlandThere were 5 bed side lamps, but only one worked, as the sockets didn't work. Of all the sockets, only two worked altogether - one for one bedside lamp and one for the water boiler. No room service (beds) on day 1. Staff could be more welcoming and more professional. Upon arrival (at 15.00), we waited in the breakfast room filled with unsupervised luggage from other guests until they were ready to check us in. Hallways (1st floor) smell a bit of cooking, but no wonder, there are two restaurants right below (which also is convenient). If coming by car: Hotel parking garage is only available for "small cars", not our family-minivan. However: There is sufficient parking on the road (free from 10pm-9pm)! Be aware: In order to drive/park in most regions in Germany, including Berlin city, you need a "Feinstaub-Plakette" for 10 Euros (either order ahead online), or you have to drive to DEKRA to get one (only 10 Euros, but a hassle).
Beautiful, majestic building, high ceiling rooms with stucco, the entrance and stairs felt like being in the 1900s!! :) We loved it! People who don't like historic buildings, should look for a modern hotel. Clean bedding and bathroom. No need to book expensive breakfast, there is a bakery right across the road and others in short walking distance around "Los Angeles" park. 100m from Kurfürstendamm. Left and right of the entrance, a great little falafel restaurant, burger restaurant, and a bar. Sparkasse (bank) and pharmacy right across at 50m distance. Sufficient parking on the road (free from 10pm-9pm)!

AustraliaAlmost no room housekeeping. I was I part of a triple in a room with no place for luggage. 1 towel rail for 3 people and nowhere for damp towels. No air conditioning and the room was too hot and it was only spring. We did get a fan though. Elevator yes, BUT up a flight of stairs to reach it and then more to get to reception (& breakfast). Not good for limited mobility.
Location, breakfast not included but good.

KazakhstanAwful internet: Mostly no internet in the rooms or too slow connection. You can have a fair connection in the dining room, but sometimes it just disappears (probably they switch it off so that people don’t take seats for long surfing web). Twin beds: If you are a couple, you will have troubles lying in beds because they don’t have doubles. Mattresses are separate and you will fall between them, if you want to sleep together (but a good one if you don’t really like cuddling in bed). Old building: The interior is old, painted in Soviet style.
Perfect location: you can travel from nearby Zoo station to almost anywhere. Best shopping experience in 5-10 minutes walk. Nice and cozy park in 10-20 minutes walk. Excellent breakfast: Good choice of meals for the breakfast, you will always be full.
