I didn't like the amount of unfinished construction sites, the plastic all over, and the dogs on the street.

I liked that it was quiet, I had the diving centre in the hotel, so I booked all my trips with them and I also appreciated that the village (Marsa Alam is just a village) is safe and allowed me to see the life of locals.

The bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner and the mattress was not really comfy.

From the time we arrived we felt directly very welcomed! Mohammed is a great host who really wants his guests to feel like they’re at home :) He arranged snorkeling and diving for us while we were there so we would not have to worry about anything. We saw beautiful places at the Red Sea and had a great time. The room itself it rather simple, but has overall everything you need.

My stay at Blue Vision Diving Hotel was such a great experience! The room was clean and comfortable but the owner, Mohammed, really went above and beyond. He helped me book a trip to Sataya Reef or Dolphin House so I could swim with dolphins in the middle of the Red Sea. This was one of the coolest experiences ever! We also went diving at a nearby beach and saw stingrays, a sea turtle and tons of fish and coral. Mohammed helped arrange a massage and baked me a cake for my birthday! He even called to confirm my ride was going to pick me up so I wouldn't miss my flight from Hurghada (an airport that is three hours away). Thank you Mohammed and Blue Vision Diving Hotel for the best time in Marsa Alam! I will be back!

Stayed at Blue Vision hotel for 5 days at short notice, exclusively for scuba diving. The staff there are excellent and very friendly. The food in the restaurant is delicious and well priced, and they serve alcohol too. The hotel is clean. Mohamed, the owner is a scuba instructor knows all the local diving spots and was able to take me to many locations where we were usually able to get in 3 dives a day by the early afternoon. He is a nice guy and I really enjoyed diving with him. He also arranged for breakfast to come early to my room on the days we departed early to dive. I think the hotel is well priced for what you get. We were unfortunately unable to go to Elphinstone reef due to the visibility. Mohamed also organised a trip to snorkel with the dolphins, which personally I didn’t enjoy too much as it was VERY crowded with day trippers (probably around 200) piling into the water from a myriad of boats. But it was a fun experience nevertheless. The Wi-Fi there is fast but only works at certain positions in the hotel. The only downside I can think of is the location, which is in the middle of a street which is surrounded by half-constructed buildings and rubble. The beach within walking distance is rocky and not suitable for snorkelling/diving. You’re a short hop from the central main road but it’s a small new city with not a lot going on there. So if you don’t have transport you may be spending a lot of time lounging by the pool (perhaps ideal for some!), which is now clean and functional in contrast to previous reviews. But for a person looking to dive lots and unwind in a quiet comfortable hotel, I could not ask for any more. I’d happily stay here again.

This has been one of the best hotel stays I have ever had! From the moment I booked, Mohamed (the owner) called me to confirm my booking and ask about our plans here to help organising the trip. He waited for our late arrival (midnight) and took care of us in the most amazing way. Everything was provided for us - breakfast delivered in the morning, cleaning services, laundry and he even organised some aloe Vera for my awful sunburn! The hotel itself is great too, bright and spacious. The room was clean, and the bathroom was great too. We also got some flowers after the cleaning service which was a lovely touch! There is a restaurant in the hotel which sells great home made food, and the staff are really lovely and also take care of their patrons! When you're not diving or snorkeling, you can relax by the pool and listen to music, or use the gym if you've got extra energy. The other amazing thing to talk about is the diving! We didn't really know what we wanted to do or see, but that was not anything we even had to worry about as Mohamed is also a diving instructor and he organised and lead not only our dives, but also organised a last minute addition which allowed us to see the dolphins! It was an amazing experience and when we come back to Marsa Alam, we will definitely stay here and dive with Mohamed Salama again! I cannot recommend this place enough, it has been an amazing stay and I feel like a queen after stating here.

Problematic smelly room with disappointing diving

The room had many issues. First, the bathroom ventilator was broken and the water trap had a foul smell so the bathroom always smelled terrible. Moreover, the toilet shakes when you sit on it and some of the towels looked dirty. Lastly, the fridge was broken but they replaced it upon our request. Breakfast was below average with stale bread. The dive sites were similar to average sites in other dive locations in the Red Sea but for a higher price and we always dived twice at the same location. Lastly, the equipment was in a bad condition and often leaked some air. Be wary of the owner arranging your transport. The first incident was the transport from the airport to the hotel. The owner asked for 35 Euros but a quick search online and we got two offers. One for 23 euro and the other for 750EGP. We went for the later and it was a perfect ride. The second incident was our transport to Luxor. We had arranged for a driver with a sedan car that leaves at our chosen time for 3000 EGP. Upon hearing this, the owner told us that it’s not safe to travel with just one car as the road has no phone coverage and a couple of people recently got shot by illegal miners. Instead, he suggested the safe way is to leave with a tourist convoy protected by the police. His offer was 4300 (300 goes to the owner) for a limousine car but we had to leave at 4 AM. We trusted him (despite other foreign female travellers confirming they used the normal route safely) cause he said that’s the way he’d trust for his wife and kids. At 4 AM, we were greeted by a van which is not as comfortable as a sedan car as the van’s engine is normally very strong and noisy and you can feel it’s vibrations through your body the whole long journey (I had to explain this point as it wasn’t clear to the owner). Furthermore, the van was gonna take us to Luxor from the same secluded road and without any tourist convoy. Upon reaching, we informed the owner and he wasn’t even apologetic.

We stayed for 5 days and did some diving with the hotel owner who’s also a diving instructor. We liked the hospitality of the hotel staff. They were very polite and tried their best to accommodate our every request. Their sea food lunch was really nice and we’d recommend it. We were also grateful that they accommodated our request for an Egyptian style scrambled egg for one breakfast.
