“This is a clean, modern hotel with parking, on the edge of Palencia. It's a Marriott, so you know what you're going to get. Everything works and is OK, and the staff are helpful. It's a good 20 minute walk into town, but there are some bars and a pretty good pizzeria nearby. Oh, and a petrol station on site!”

Evening meal was dreadful. Asked for two burgers, both to be well done, this was done using translation on my phone as the waitress didn't speak English. She read and acknowledged the translation. Unfortunately the chef sent out two undercooked burgers.The chips were equally undercooked in places. Definitely not impressed.
In stark contrast, Breakfast was superb. A good selection of continental dishes and a cooked selection also, with a very helpful waitress who went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect.
Reception was quietly efficient and polite,speaking very good English.”
“Easy to find, a small hotel of approximately 30 rooms, had everything it had advertised. we arrived on a Sunday evening but were directed by the very helpful staff to a nearby square where we found a bar serving dinner and to my husband’s delight showing a football match. Great downtime for him after a 6 hour drive. To cap it all the square was the location of Palencia Cathedral which we had time to visit before we left. Fascinating place and very beautiful.”
