I can’t think of a single issue. Just expect to be in the middle of the country side with everything that usually comes with it. And a bunch of friendly dogs and cats 😉

A little piece of paradise and place to come back to! We enjoyed our stay at the cortijo sooo much😍 Jacques (the owner) made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival and we really enjoyed having breakfasts and dinners with him. We had plenty of good laughs. The cortijo itself is a great base for exploring the area around, you can start your hike directly from the doorstep. And if you are in the area for climbing you can walk to different crags as well. We’ll be back!

Jacques was the most amazing host we could have ever asked for! The food was amazing and he was willing to cook early if needed or later depending on your schedule. He has a bunch of pets that we were able to play with and he was just the most hospitable host I have ever come across.

No sound insulation between bathroom and bedroom. A bit worn out bed.

Total silence, swimming pool, landscape. Privacy. Proximity to Caminito del Rey and nice hiking trails. Fantastic host serving great home-made breakfast and dinner. Family atmosphere. Horse, dogs, cats and fox - all silent and friendly.

The concept of the Cortijo is simple, but it offers everything that one can dream of. A well-balanced experience including nature, mountains, animals, pool, food, people and possibilities for excursions (e.g. Caminito del Rey). The house and its rooms are nicely and creatively arranged by its owner Jacque who is a great host and cook. A very authentic stay in a nice place!

GPS wasn’t that reliable in getting you there and the road up to the property can be a bit tricky but take your time and you will be rewarded with a beautiful place

Don Camilo is in a beautiful setting with views over Andalusia - Jacques has created an authentic Spanish retreat in the mountains which is a fantastic place to chill and relax He made us dinner on the first night we arrived which was really good and ate with us at breakfast each morning

We got high service but also received great hospitality from the owner. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The location is a great starting spot for excursions to the mountains with wonderful nature around. It is in good walking distance from El Chorro, so you can make the Caminito del Rey from this location easily.

The house is like a little paradise, perfectly located on the top of the hills that surround El Chorro. Calm and private and still close to activities like hiking and climbing. The facilities were clean, very comfortable and beautifully cared for by the owner Jacques. The atmosphere is personal and small-scale. I will definitely come back!

Very friendly place with excellent host. There is unique athmosphere and we enjoyed that very much. Very special were breakfests and dinners where we all ware eating together and we were able all to get new information from host and other guests. You do no need to afraid too much of other people because guests maximum in this house is 7. Our host is excelent guy with great sense for humor and he knows very well how to cooc.

Some people have commented about the access road, however this was easily accessible with our small hire car.

The property is in an excellent location. It was quiet and peaceful, with great views across the area. There are great hiking trails and climbing from the door.

Nothing to do with the property or host! Only thing to note is that the drive up to the property is quite rugged and would not bode well with a smart car or mini. Lot of pot holes / dirt roads which is the vibe of this area in general.

Jacques is a wonderful host. Everything was better than expected with great view, big private room, property, etc. Breakfast was really special, absolutely delicious! Jacques puts a lot of effort into a nice home cooked spread that I looked forward to every morning. The extra meals are also worth the money! Great community dinner vibes. Honor code for drinks is great as well. Climbing nearby and out in the serene countryside.

What a PLACE! It was a cherry on the cake if the whole holiday. Cortijo is located on the mountain and the views are amazing and endless! Jacque made dinner for us twice, and both times it was very good, including the home made dessert. It is absolutely quiet at night, there are hiking trails starting right from Cortijo. We hiked Escalera Arabe and were completely alone during all the hike. The bed was very comfortable. Honesty bar is available at a very reasonable prices. We want to be back! Don’t trust your navigation and confirm the road to be chosen.

Lovely breakfast, all freshly prepared, with homemade jams etc, delicious! Whilst a bit bumpy to get there, the location is stunning. Jaques shared great suggestions for walks and dinner spots!

Perched high on the mountain, it’s beautifully secluded and gives a real sense of being in nature. The pool is big and lovely, with beautiful views. The rooms are big and comfortable.

Nothing all was good!

Jacques was super welcoming with us and a very nice person in general, we enjoyed spending some time with him! They are only 2 rooms so the entire place is very quiet; the location is amazing in the middle of the nature + facilities with the pool, terrasses & garden are really perfect. It also a really nice area to visit in general if you like hiking, climbing or kayaking.
