Wonderful place with a fantastic view, great hospitality and a very nice room with a huge bathroom. An excellent dinner, perfect service, goid wine and a final drink at the chimney.

The on line promotion suggests a cosy environment, but very disappointingly, no log fire or candles, the lounge and dining room were cold and lacking in atmosphere. The dinner was just passable, the pork was very tough and could have been cooked for longer, slower perhaps. The mattress has seen better days and sags in the middle, not comfortable. Breakfast was OK, a little limited eg:no eggs ?

Great location and warm inclusive welcome, good size bedroom en suite, underfloor heating, wine list, car park.

The location was wonderful and wished we could have stayed longer - 2 nights wasn't long enough. We arrived exhausted from driving and David, the owner met us outside, took care of us and brought us in to a lovely dinner. The staff was exceptional. We loved the available 'honest' bar to make ourselves a cocktail before dinner. Every view was just wonderful and the detail to the house was comfortable and inviting.

    Nothing- everything was exceptional!

A truly unique and special experience. The property is located in a spectacular location providing incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valley. Casa de San Martin has a deep historical significance and has been restored and improved in a thoughtful way that honors and respects its legacy while providing guests with a 5 star experience! The owner, David Robinson, gave us a warm welcome and offered tips on where to walk, hike and view the incredible Pyrenees mountains! He shared some of the fascinating history and more recent developments with the property and surrounding community. Dinner was superb! We eat a vegetarian diet and the chef prepared a wonderful meal for us! We were delighted with each course! Breakfast was also a great experience. David and his team put careful thought and attention into every detail to make a stay at this property incredibly comfortable, satisfying and memorable. We highly recommend a stay here and hope to return!

Amazing small hotel in the mountains. David and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We would return in an instant. Really a dream location for an escape from the city. Not too far from beautiful Ordesa National Park for a day hike.

Really nothing as is very little things that I would change differently. but that's a personal preference and would not waste the review for this. You can always do something different somewhere.

The food was fantastic for the location, all locally sourced. The location was perfect, situated in the hills overlooking a beauty valley below. The original residence is 1000 yrs old and shares a history dating back to some of Spain's history.

Best stay in the Spanish Pyrenees!

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! David, Andre, and Crina are just amazing, so caring and friendly, yet master of their craft: be it cooking amazing dishes, recommending amazing wines or helping us plan out our days to enjoy the most of the region. Seldom have I felt more welcomed and cared for. This hotel in itself is worth a visit to the Spanish Pyrenees. Really, it's that good. The building has all the charm of its accumulated past (parts of it dating to the 10th century) and all the comfort of a modern luxury hotel. Heated floors, great spacious rooms, balconies with views of the mountain, cozy reading rooms...and the food! And as much as it's hard to leave such an amazing place, it's also the perfect base from which to explore the manny quaint villages around or hike the Parque Nacional Ordesa y Monte Perdido, as well as many other marked and unnarked trails (some of which starting right at the hotel grounds!). A must stop for anyone planning to visit the north of Spain, and one we're definitely coming back to as often as possible.

    Having to leave.

A haven of tranquility. What a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. David, the owner, and Andre and Carina were delightful and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. David was also hugely knowledgeable about the area and gave us great recommendations on what to do and see. Dinner was delicious and we loved trying the local wines. Breakfast was also lovely with wonderful local produce and Andre's delicious home baking. Cannot recommend this fabulous hotel highly enough.

Casa de San Martin is a truly magical place, located in a remote spot on a mountain crest in the Spanish Pyrenees. The building dates from the 10th century and saw it’s first use as a chapel for the monks of a monastery nearby. Over the last 25 years, the owner has meticulously renovated this ancient structure with incredible sense for detail. Every corner of the house and the garden are just beautiful, almost like a piece of art. The view over the hills into nature are breathtaking. The night sky is full of stars, which may be enjoyed without any light pollution (we were told the valley below has at most 5-10 permanent residents). Whilst Casa de San Martin is in a remote location, it comes with all the necessary and usual comfort. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying and also eating at the hotel. Breakfast & dinner were delicious and combine local high quality food with a touch of exotic (the cook apparently is from Brazil). As you can tell, we completely fell in love with this place and will certainly return. There are not many places like it.

David’s place is very special. He manages to combine refined taste with a casual retreat capturing the rustic feeling of the region without sacrificing comfort. We stayed for three nights and were sad to leave. The location is extremely tranquil, nestled in a valley with 360 views of nature and a beautiful star filled sky. We dinned in each night and were continually delighted with our meals. David et al accommodated our weird allergies with grace and ease. Places like this are few and far between and we will certainly return for another visit.
