Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLoved our stay! Rustic but comfortable. Walk to town and its many restaurants, and beach. Relax after a long day of hiking in the large pool or the many rooms equipped with comfortable sofas. The king size bed was comfortable, the terrace private and overlooking a pine grove. We recommend it heartily.

Beautiful place, unfortunately we could not use the pool as the wind was too strong. We loved the details, everything was decorated with love. The receptionist was very friendly although we paid way less than the normal rate.

CanadaWhat did I like. The beds room balcony were all lovely. We played cards in the sitting area if the hotel and I did my yoga there as well It was a great stay. I wish they had the large group separate from the guests. The large group were lovely people but overpowering.
We are English speaking Canadians. When we arrived the front desk staff spoke excellent English. It really helped us to be comfortable. The next day there was a man on the front desk who did not speak any English and he wouldn't try to communicate with us... So sad. There was a large group of hikers while we were there. They are all the breakfast food! There was very little for us on the first day. A potatoes egg pie was heated in the microwave for us and was still partially frozen. I complained the lack of food and it was much better the next day. But a frozen premade potatoes egg pie is not in keeping with the calibre if the hotel.

United KingdomLeaving for home.
Our third enjoyable visit here in recent years and good value. The hotel is in a great location just outside San Jose in the country. Used as a location for some old Spaghetti westerns, it is great to sit in the bar area by the fire and play back a fight scene on YouTube from Clint Eastwoods "A Few Dollars More". It has changed a bit since then but seeing Clint fighting the bad guys where you are actually sitting is amazing. The hotel is spread out over a large area and San Jose is not that far to walk too, a nice chilled out little town with a great beach and marina. The staff at this quiet time of year seem to do many jobs but are very friendly as always. The rooms are big and clean and there is a good sized sheltered pool. There are lots of places to sit and read, chat or enjoy a drink inside the hotel in huge lounges with lots of interesting things in them. A great base for exploring the fantastic rugged coast and beaches, or less than half an hour to Mini Hollywood, one of 3 western film sets. We look forward to our next visit.

SpainThe location is perfect. It’s only a 4 minute drive or it’s a 20 minute walk to San Jose. We stayed in a room which had a massive bed and a nice terrace. Facilities were great. The swimming pool was open in october and they have a pool table and tennis courts (needs renovating a little but was fine) which are both free. The restaurant opens in the evening and the food is fantastic. They even let us take our special bottle of wine without a corkage fee. The staff were incredibly nice and we were allowed late check out as nobody was coming that day with no extra charge.

ItalyIf we want find something : the structure level is closer to 3 1/2 then 4 stars hotel as it needs some (very secondary) maintenance. The half Board was good, not expensive only a bit monotonous .unfortunately we didn't find any family room for 5 persons so we had to book 2 rooms(much more expensive)
the location is spectacular in the middle of the desert of Cabo de Gata just few minute walking from San Josè . We were where Sergio Leone made the clou scenes of "A Fistful of Dollars" with Clint Eastwood ((in the nice hall you can hear something of a western film).Close to the structure you can also ride horses. Our rooms, with spacious terraces, were completely sorrounded by nature with nothing in front but grasslands and mountain.

United KingdomThe hotel is located a 10-15 minute walk into town but upside it's nice and quiet. Fly's are annoying rather than a problem particularly inside the hotel, I think there might be some way of reducing them indoors. Otherwise a great hotel.
Great hosts, beautifully renovated Cortijo. Room huge, pool great. Food good, Difficult to fault.

United KingdomThe pool was fabulous and the rooms were large and beautiful with a nice little terrace to relax on. The children loved the little playground. It was spacious and the views were great. It was on the outskirts of San José so it was peaceful yet it was a very easy walk into town and to the beach. Only a 30 minute drive to Almeria airport.

United KingdomNothing, we liked the short walk into town and to the beach.
Fantastic value, classy property, large rooms with terraces. Pool open in April (most aren’t)! Didn’t mind water being fresh as weather was hot. The amount of lounge space separated into sections was incredible, beautifully presented and full of character. one of the best places we’ve stayed in 5 weeks of touring.

United KingdomI would like a menu del dia or some kind of offer for hotel guests as it would be very expensive to eat there more than once. Worth it for a special treat, though!
Incredible hotel in a perfect location for nearby exploration. Great pool overlooking the desert/mountains. Huge spacious clean room, massive shower & lovely classic Cortijo doors & windows. The food/restuarant was an unexpected treat! Being Vegetarian/Vegan is not always easy in rural Spain but the food I had was well thought & presented. Excellent service, the barman/waiter was really sweet & made me a great Negroni! I've visited the hotel many times as it was used in 2 of my favourite Spaghetti Westerns, but this was the first time I stayed & I really loved it :)
