We loved this hotel on both occasions we stayed there. From the warm welcome on the front desk to our beautifully clean and comfortable room - it made for a great stay, and it’s ideally situated for anyone wanting to travel further into northern spain, with easy access to the airport and the major roads. Every member of staff we happened across was friendly, polite and extremely helpful, especially Tamara in the lounge bar and Joaquin in the restaurant - they were memorable.

Not a big minus for people with cars but hotel is definitely not within a walking distance from center of town.

They blocked off the parking lot for 2 days not allowing us to park up close to the hotel because of an event they had going on over the weekend which I thought was a bit strange and inconvenient for guests There was a shooting range on the beach right across the street from the hotel and since there was no air conditioning we had to open our window off then to not get too hot. So we heard gunshots sometimes and would have to close our window which was a bit strange since this is kind of an upscale part of Santander which isn't the hotel's fault I guess but just something traveler should know if they're sensitive to noise. There is now air conditioning apparently in Spain hotels so be prepared to open your window. . We were also told the breakfast was only 15-euro and when we checked out it was actually 24- per person which is really high since all the restaurants are very reasonable in Spain and you could easily have gotten something much cheaper and gotten by . we would not have eaten all 3 days there if we'd known it was so expensive! And when I mentioned it a check out they didn't offer to do anything just said we must have misunderstood what they said Lastly we sat in their bar area one time and for some reason we're totally ignored by the waitress. Several other patrons were down there and getting drinks and food and she didn't even offer to get us a drink after we sat there for 30 minutes.This was a general issue and most of Spain since they aren't tipped I guess sometimes they just don't give very good service. :-(

Great location walking to the beach, casino, lots of restaurants. Beautiful hotel with a really cool history and a gorgeous antique elevator. Staff was very friendly. Bar food was tasty and not too high priced. Beautiful outdoor garden and though the breakfast was expensive it was delicious. Really gorgeous views if you are on the ocean side I think it's worth it with the mountains and the beautiful green in the background across the bay

Restaurant is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. This is very poor for such an expensive up-market hotel. Coffee served in bar area is awful and was seved just warm. This is really surprising since everywhere else in Spain, even in the smallest out-of-the-way places, we had excellent coffee.

Elegant hotel with excellent facities, except that the restaurant is not open every evening. Food served in restaurant (when open) and bar area is very good.

A bit remote but actually not a problem, 5 min in taxi or take a stroll along the coast.

The restaurant wasn’t working which was a bit disappointing due to the fact that we came for one day of rest and didn’t wanted to go out of the hotel.

A "grand" hotel located in a very elegant district of Santander, next to beautiful Sardinero Beach. We were given an upgrade and I enjoyed an amazing view of the ocean. Highly recommended as the hotels in town that I saw during my stay in Santander do not have this charm.
