How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is very tricky if you do not have a car when staying here but everything else was great!
Hacienda Encanto del Rio was a perfect quiet place to stay in the trees. We were in the studio and it had everything we needed including a nice terrace to sit out in the evenings. There was a fridge, cooking facilities/utensils and a great powerful shower! The pool area is lovely and had a very chilled vibe. The breakfast was also great and Giovanni and all the staff are very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating for us. Would suggest to get a rental car as it is a 5 minute drive to cute restaurants but you cannot walk it. We really enjoyed our stay so thank you!

Not really didn’t like but more like improvements that would be great: - better wifi coverage, but that I already talked to the host and he tries to do it. Unfortunately the location is a bit on the hill and sometimes difficult - mosquitoes net to the balcony. At least on our room it was a bit broken and difficult to move it up/down. Even though we managed
Giovanni is a great host, he gave us recommendations about places around to eat and visit. Breakfast was really nice and they took good care of my wife allergies as well. The location was very nice and quiet, close to nice beach (San Vincent) and cozy city (San Carlos). All done by car. We would definitely stay again or recommend to our friends.

Nothing, it was all perfect and exactly what we expected.
Beautiful location, in a stunning setting. Breakfast was fantastic and the host and staff were incredibly helpful with anything we needed. Our studio was quiet and tastefully decorated. The whole accommodation is so pretty and felt authentic. Relaxing in the swimming pool was lovely after a day of exploring. Hiring a car is a must if you are staying here - this helped us explore all the corners of the island. Would return in the future. Thanks again for a great stay!

Everything was perfect. The location was perfect for our honeymoon. Exactly what we’re looking for! In the middle of a pine forest with a great ambiance! Amenities are great, simple and beautiful, Mediterranean style. Super clean! Great breakfast by the beautiful pool. But what surprised us the most, was the friendly and warm style of Giovani, our host, and all the staff. Giovanni was everyday telling us the most secret spots of Ibiza, where to go, where to eat, taking into account our style!

This hacienda is a peaceful place, ideal for rest and relaxation. The rooms are very comfortable, the pool is very nice, and even the food offered at dinner is particularly good. In short, we would definitely come back.

The new management team (with quite some of the existing employees) does it utmost best to respond to any potential inconveniences, and provides quick fixes. They provide excellent suggestions for walks, restaurants, places to visit, ... The location is wonderful if you prefer a (very) quiet place on Ibiza (esp. with only 3 rooms ocupied). The inconvenience being that you'd rather have a car if you don't want to stay at the hacienda all day, and anyway in low season, only meal served is (an excellent) breakfast. There are a lot of taxi's in Ibiza, so that shouldn't be an issue either for sporadic trips. Pool looks nice, but first week of May was a little too cold for me. The place is not cheap, but that goes for everything in Ibiza these days, unless you prefer a hostal with DJ-sets all night long. In a nutshell, we spent a excellent 5 nights holiday.

nothing bad to say!
Such a beautiful clean room with an authentic Spanish feel and plenty of space. Wonderful staff and delicious breakfast included. We couldn’t ask for more! The pool area was also perfect and it’s all in a super quiet location in the untouched north within walking distance to an idyllic beach. We will be coming again!

Been coming here many times with my family (usually staying in the Himalaya suite) and will definitely come back here! Studio rented through booking.com directly faces a pine tree forest which smells amazing. There were a lot of woodlice though and a worm under the mattress - a bit expected though when you’re directly facing nature ;) if you’re afraid of that maybe one of the upper studios might be better for you.
Very calm and relaxing atmosphere! Warm and welcoming team working on the hacienda, with good advise on the area :) Excellent breakfast. Very flexible check-in and check-out. Suitable for solo travelers - felt very save here and met great people !
