Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location of the hotel was perfect - it was close to so many objects to visit that we took the metro just a few times. The neighborhood was safe and quiet - even despite of the fact that it was the Gothic quarter. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and there was enough space for us. We did not take breakfast, but just right next to the hotel there was a cafe with delicious and healthy breakfast (we recommend salmon avocado toast!) and all along the street there were many small cafes as well.

United StatesI made the mistake of asking for a room with a window that opened. This request was granted but, little did I know , that this would put us right next to the elevator and a deck that was access for hotel employees to reach items they needed. Thus lots of noise from elevator and employees. Also, beds in this hotel are extremely hard.
This hotel is in a great location. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly.

United KingdomOur main disappointment came from the room itself though… Most times when being in the room you could smell drainage and the air conditioning didn’t really work. This wasn’t great and kind of ruined the experience especially it being our engagement trip. The images that advertise the room do not represent what the room whatsoever so for the price it was very disappointing.
Very central, perfect location for exploring the city… Staff were so helpful and friendly. Allowed us to keep our cases and bags before check in and check out! Loved how the hotel was attached to a lovely cafe and the hotel served refreshments to help yourself to every morning. The bed was also very comfortable.

United StatesThe carpet in the hallway was old and dirty and there was a musky smell. Out of place in quite an expensive hotel (we paid about $300 per night for a balcony room).
Location was fantastic. We wanted to be in the Gotic Quarter and near Port Vell. The street seemed bohemian but very safe and QUIET at night. We walked everywhere from there. Fabulous restaurants nearby including 2 excellent Tapas bars across the street (need reservations!) and a great breakfast place on the corner (cheaper and better than breakfast in the hotel). Comfortable rooms and beds. New decor and bathroom and nice little balcony (you pay extra for a balcony room but I recommend it) We spent 7 nights here and really had a wonderful stay.

United KingdomOnly real problem was the plumbing! Other reviewers had mentioned bad smells: we dealt with the nasty smell from the shower drain by running the shower regularly and leaving the extractor on. However, the toilet stopped working on two days, which needed attention before it would flush. It's an old building but improvement to the plumbing would be wise! The location means there will be noise at night: we expected it, but if you want peace and quiet all night you might be happier elsewhere.
Location was superb - for our needs, with great tapas bars very close by, short walk to metro stations and Ramblas. The hotel staff were very friendly and responsive to our questions and problems (see below). Whole hotel was very clean and attractive, overall a good stay for a few days.

Perfect location in the Gothic quarter for 5 min walk to the port and then another 5 mins through the port to the beach and Barceloneta. Born is about 5 to 10 mins the other way. 15 mins through the pedestrian Gothic quarter to Plaza Catalunya.

United KingdomNothing. It is a good hotel, reasonably priced and a safe feel. There are few restaurants in Carrer Ample, so you can eat near the hotel or stroll to the old town in no time. Feels like home.
Location is off the main drag of the centre, but in a side street near a large avenue. Transport good and easy to navigate on buses and metro, meaning you can easily get a bus to Ramb;a if you want and move around the neighbourhoods at will.
