Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

The welcome at Hostal Escuils was the warmest I have ever had. The bedroom and bathroom are extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and the basics (tea bags, cakes, toiletries etc) are refreshed daily if needed The standard is way above what you would expect from a hotel in this category. The wifi works well. The parking could not be more convenient. But if all of that is not enough to convince you, I am happy to say that Maria and her mother are the best hostesses you will ever find!

If you take into accout that we do look at a hostal and not a four star hotel then the convenience plus the warm personality of our host is outstanding. Thank you, Maria!

Maria made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, kind, generous and thinks of everything. She gave us a valuable orientation on the area and its highlights which really helped us find the right things to do. In the Hostel there is a great attention to detail, even a red rose and chocolates in our room on Valentines day.. The hotel is in a glorious location, quieter than nearby salardù, the room was lovely, with classy lace bedlinen and nothing was too much trouble, The breakfast was so generous, the remains made a great packed lunch. It was so good we extended our stay

Exceptionally warm welcome and simple but very well maintained, comfortable hotel. Very clean room with comfortable beds and excellent shower. Lashings of hot water and fluffy towels. all of this set in the lovely village of Unha , overlooking Salardu. very good breakfast.

What an absolute treasure! The breakfast is very complete and cook to order. Good variety of fruit and egg options. The room was clean and well ventilated. Bathroom was fine as well. Wifi throughout the place. Nice views from our room and public (free) parking by the back garden. The hosts, just the best of the place. Always happy to help and give good tips about the ski-slopes and the area. Repetiremos! 😊

United KingdomI have to say this is one of my favourite places I have ever stayed. Maria was extremely friendly and helpful, she obviously really cares about her guests and wants them to enjoy their trip. The rooms were cosy with great views. They were very clean with everything you need and the whole hotel was very peaceful. There was free and convenient parking. There are some really good restaurants on the doorstep and more a few minutes drive down the road. Breakfasts were delicious. The village is beautiful and is very convenient for the nearby ski lifts without being right in the middle of the busy town nearby.
