Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room and bathroom was very small I was on my own in a double room and I'd have felt claustrophobic if with another person. Expensive for what it was.
Lovely friendly reception staff. A kettle was available at reception for an early coffee if wanted as no facilities in the rooms. There was a free safe. Excellent location. 5 minutes from the train station.

IrelandMy own fault for leaving the window open at night but got several mosquito bites. As rooms in the back look out onto a square that is uninhabited and a breeding ground for mosquitoes . Netting would be a great solution.
Excellent location, spotlessly clean , very friendly staff

ThailandFirstly, this is a hostel with private rooms with private bathrooms. It's ok, but there is absolutely no soundproof and you hear the nose all the time. The room is tiny but it is stated in the web site details and good enough if you plan only to sleep there. But noise did not let us do it until late night. Another thing is a parking. There is no parking in this hotel and after booking we have found out that we had to park our car in one of the city parkings (the closest is 7-10 min on foot). If you travel by car and plan to bring a heavy suitcase you may not like it. One more problem - unclear check in instructions sent by hotel. They told us to check in online which we did but we were not aware that there was a reception on the 3rd floor where we could do it offline. Finally we had to go to reception anyway to get the passcode for the door lock. And we were not the only guest who were confused. There were others on the ground floor. They helped us because they spoke Spanish and they called to the hotel to find out how to check in.
Location in the very center of an old town. A lot of eateries around and a supermarket right opposite the entrance of the hotel. Very clean inside. Comfy bed. Good shower. Free umbrellas at the reception.

GreeceBeware, the rooms are on the second and third floor and there is no elevator. Also quite noisy, since the wooden floors, and drywalls are not soundproof.
Great location, excellent staff, very clean, modern looking tiny room. Literally in the old city, 5.minutes to the metro station, tram and central train station. room cleaning every day. Front desk was very helpful.

IrelandNothing.
It can be hard to find a comfortable room in the old town and I was very satisfied with this hotel. The room is spacious, clean and (importantly) quiet. Reception is staffed all during the day (nice lady) and there is a simple door system code for the evenings. I can recommend without any hesitation.

CyprusThe toilet door is not the most convinient and need a struggle to get in/out/through. But as mentioned if you just need a clean room to sleep then this is an excellent option
Great location and great support from the team! The rooms are quite small but if you just need a room to stay while exploring the city then it is highly reccommented.

United Kingdomoh, i had to climb 3 flights of steps to get to my room! hahaa! but it's ok, good to burn off the calories after all the good food!
the location was excellent! its right in the area of restaurants, attractions n especially after a long day of playing tourist it was so easy to just turn around n then you're back in the hotel! although it was right on a busy street with restaurants below, it wasn't noisy at all. The hotel people were also really friendly n helpful. when I was unpacking, I realised that I took the wrong USB cable for my charger, n when I went to ask the reception where would be the nearest shop to buy a cable, the reception took out a cable n loaned it to me! what excellent service! I doubt any other hotel would do that! N they gave good recommendations for where to eat as well. Oh I also liked their door lock system, never had to worry about forgetting keys or cards! I would go back there again.

AustraliaThe bathroom and shower were very small and beware there are no lifts. We had to take our luggage up and down three flights of stairs (62 steps), my husband counted. Okay if you are young but we're in our late sixties. I wouldn't recommend for people with mobility issues.
The hotel is located in the old town of Bilbao, and you just walk out onto the street for wonderful places to eat and explore, with an easy walk to the Guggenheim along the river. The room itself was a good size, immaculately clean with a comfortable bed. Considering it was a third-floor room above a reasonably busy street the room was really quite soundproof and dark with the shutters closed.

Mexicothe room is really small and would have been a challenge for two as well as people bigger than me! I was on the third floor which was a challenge for an older person carrying suitcase etc up 3 flights if stairs. No one offered to help with luggage and luckily I am still fit, even for a person my age. I would say this nice hotel iis best for young people. They could also make an arrangement with a local restauraant to provide breakfast for their guests
The location was most convenient, I could walk everywhere and had many shops and restaurants close by. The staff were young and helpful, generous with advice and suggestions. Helpful letting me use their phone to make an urgent call.
