Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI was disappointed in the $20 parking. I was told that I would have it waived when I checked in, but the checkout guy charged me for it. I should have objected, but oh well! Great location, but pretty expensive for off-season.
The location was excellent. I especially liked being within walking distance of Old Spaghetti Factory, a Newport Beach great destination. Being close to the Wedge was really cool too.

United StatesThis is not really a negative - just something to know: the hotel is situated on the main road through town so there is road noise. When the window was shut and the air on, we didn't hear the cars.
We enjoyed our brief stay at this cozy hotel. It was nice to have such friendly and helpful service from the reception and to stay in a homey room. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was fine, there's a roof-top terrace, and the beach is a 2 minute walk across the street.

United StatesIt’s an older property and the elevator is the old type where you have to open the door and gate manually so it wasn’t easy with your hands full of luggage.
It was clean and comfortable, close to the beach and they had a rooftop patio

United StatesThis hotel was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. In fact, they leave you a welcome note on your pillow when you first get there and supply you with equipment to enjoy your time. It is close to everything you need. We walked or road bikes everywhere. The bike rental was 2 blocks up making it easy to go pick them up. We had the beach on one side and the bay on the other. We went there to relax and that’s what we did.

United StatesEVERYTHING! We have stayed here multiple times & will always come back. Our favorite place in Southern CA. to stay. The rooms are clean, comfy, well appointed & unassuming. The light breakfast is a perfect way to start your day. The rooftop is a wonderful spot to enjoy breakfast... AND a glass of wine when the sun sets. You are just a few steps to the ocean & the boardwalk... where there are plenty of fun bars & restaurants to enjoy. Rent a bike for a day & pretty much go ANYWHERE, enjoying the seabreeze & scenery.. We do it everytime we visit. The staff is PHENOMINAL. Everyone is incredibly kind & helpful. BUT... the property GM is exceptional. His name is Alfie. You can tell he truly cares about the customers, the property & he does his job flawlessly. Just wonderful. Truly. Thank you Alfie & the rest of the team! See you soon! 😘

We stayed here for our annual Girls Weekend Out. We had a great 1st impression and were pleasantly surprised from the time we checked in. Warren was at the front desk and checked us in. He was very helpful funny and friendly and made us feel at home. We 1st noticed the bowl of candy and the fresh baked cookies! The hotel is in the perfect location. 1 block from the beach. It has more of a quaint Bed and Breakfast kind of ferl because of the homey feel. They serve Continental breakfast with good healthy choices to get your through the morning. Great selection of several hot teas and coffee. Every thing was clean. A variety of individually wrapped breads for toast, and individually wrapped hard boiled eggs. Fresh fruit, a good variety of cold cereal, juice and even soy milk for your coffee or cereal. In the afternoon they serve fresh baked cookies and had individual bags of tortilla chips and salsa! They have an awesome rooftop area to hang out and watch the sunset. We ordered take out dinner and watched the Sunset as our last night there. It was a perfect ending. They also have beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels. No need to pack that stuff from home. The rooms are nicely sized. We had a large room with 2 queen beds. Lots of storage space, a refrigerator, coffee with coffee maker and a table and chairs. When we arrived there was a Thank You card from Warren on the bed( the management) to say thank you for staying with them. It's the little things that make you want to go back. We had an awesome Girls Weekend. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this place. They even have a vintage phone in the lobby that works if you need to call another room! Thank you for a wonderful stay

United StatesThe elevator, while serviceable, is small and antiquated—this needs updating. Given the construction of the building, wondering if a second elevator would work better. If updating of the facilities is due, really hope they can preserve the interior charm of the common areas, bathrooms, etc.
Excellent location. The property itself is very well constructed. While it was built back c. 1960, it has been very well maintained with several nice wood accents and higher end materials inside and outside. There is a real “charm” to the place, feeling more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well. Beach towels, beach chairs and sand toys are available without charge—very thoughtful for families with young children. Staff was very friendly, particularly Warren who gives a brief history of the property and an orientation to some of its amenities. Breakfast area is well stocked for a continental breakfast—plenty of fresh fruit, good coffee, selection of hard boiled eggs, toast/muffins, cereals. The rooftop are requires climbing 1 flight of steps but is worth it—several tables, lounge chairs available. Wonderful views of the ocean and the marina. At night, you can see boats gliding by in the waters.

United StatesParking is catch-as-catch can and very challenging. The onsite parking facilities are very small and limited - not too surprising though, due to the age and location of the property. Parking limitations are no fault of the property, that’s just the way it is in that area. We did have to pay an extra $25 to park in one of two property owned parking spots located in an alley a short distance from the hotel. Wasn’t really a big deal as far as the walk to and from the room but the spots were still very small and narrow and getting into one was a little tricky even though we were only driving a mid-sized vehicle. The biggest surprise/disappointment was that we had to pay extra to park in this alley. Would have been nice for it to be complimentary like I’m sure the on premises parking probably is. Still, it was video monitored and better than parking God-knows where and walking for blocks.
Very quaint, clean and comfortable room. It was located on the street side of the property but road noise wasn’t really bad. Friendly and accommodating staff, particularly Warren at the front desk. Overall we had an excellent experience and would stay there again.

Location, location, location! This hotel was within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and shops. We were so happy with how close it was to the beach and the bay! Don't let the pictures of the rooms fool you, they look old in the pictures but were so cute and beached themed, definitely a nice surprise. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Warren at the front desk was fantastic. Will definitely return on our next trip.
