How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We were put in a back corner of a floor far away from the main rooms. Room was very outdated with black mold around the windows.
Staff was friendly. Dining room was great.

Noise (slamming of doors) and voices until 1am made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was just ok.
Hotel was nice and pillows were comfortable.

The food bus, dropping 50 people at a wack for dinner.
I was out on an injury. So I spent 6 days on the bed with my foot elevated. For the price they could at least have a English-speaking channel.

It is an upscale pilgrim hostel with business room rates….not a good mix.
Quite frankly, nothing. However, if you get to Santiago by car is probably one of the best options given few hotels offer decent parking

The spa needs to be fixed and updated. the bathroom door didn’t open fully in my room. The aircon was totally ineffective. There were not enough staff to deal with tours and regular patrons together. Major put off. Didn’t eat or drink in hotel because I was fighting the crowds who were overloading the few staff.
Close proximity to Santiago.

When you arrive at the hotel in the reception they will ask you, If want to use the SPA you need to pay extra.
The room is ok to spend a couple of days, and the hotel restaurant is very good!

Shabby, faded decor. Not enough staff - one barman and one other trying to deal with two large coach parties as well as normal guests. Our meal was very poor, more like a school dinner. Breakfast was ok but nothing cooked freshly.
Friendly staff. Fluffy pillows and large, comfortable beds.

The buffet breakfast was poorly organised and needs more fruit. Both mornings there were queues and people waiting for eggs. we also waited a while before anyone came to seat us. When you know how many guests are having breakfast then you can be better prepared. You should ask at check-in, what time we think we`ll be eating breakfast, so help you better. They also need two dishes of eggs, ham and sausages.
I liked that I needed an extra pillow and the staff accommodated me quickly. Also, the location was great, as it was quiet and a short 5 min drive into Santiago.

Absolutely the worst Hotel we have ever stayed in . Swimming pool empty having the tiles re-grouted , no where to chill out/relax outside in the sun .The spa is a 20 euro for 90mins joke per person . The Hotel is old and dated and currently being renovated .Nowhere to get a drink during the day as the Hotel is under staffed , bar closed in the afternoon until 8pm then there are only 2 members of staff to look after the restaurant and the bar who are stressed beyond belief running around trying to attend to everybody’s needs ! Nightmare !

The spa was a cost outside the reservation price, when booked there wasn’t any warning about it! Also the kids can only go in the morning in a reservation with 2 kids that information should be presented ahead of time and not after checkout! The whole point of bringing the kids was for them to enjoy the indoor pool area in the afternoon, the kids were disappointed I had to cancel the business meeting on that afternoon because I couldn’t leave my wife alone with 2 crying kids about the pool. A complete disaster. The rooms were supper noisy during the night because the hallways are so long when guests come and go you can hear them all the time! Finally the breakfast was poor, even by Spanish standards it’s just awful!

We didint general info at check-in like restaurant open hours, how we could reach spa etc. Only two people working at the restaurant, it was full and it was hard for them to handle it. There should be more people. For the money, it was just ok. Breakfast is not special.
