Although there is no elevator, the rooms are easily accessible.

Beautiful castle, comfortable and the service impeccable. The location was good for us and very easy to get parking.

The staff were brilliant. Very helpful and friendly. Property is beautiful. Very comfortable and beautiful garden. They allowed us to park inside the main 'owners gates' which was very much appreciated as car filled with our belongings, but without we would have been on street. Two disappointments, overlooked by tower blocks of apartments and no restaurant. Breakfast was lovely and service was exceptional. Thank you to Isabel for understanding re car and parking.

We would've like to be able to close the window shutters to make it darker, but despite this we still had a good night's sleep.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble- even though we arrived late at night after a delayed flight. They were very helpful in suggesting places to eat and helping with directions. The hotel was beautiful, the room comfortable and clean. Fantastic attention to detail. The breakfast spread was great.

Staying in Los Guardeses for 9 weeks...a long Job to do. I felt come home every day.This ist not a hotel-it is a place for living! I will never forget this time. Thanks a lot to reception,to housekeeping and to chef. I will be back for holyday! Moreover Solares ist a pretty good town for travelling people. You will find everything what you need.

Apparently the hotel had messaged me to let me know there was a wedding on the day of the booking. I didn't receive the message but it was ok. I could hear it but it did'nt stop me having a good night's sleep.

The Receptionist went above and beyond to help me. She was lovely. The room was beautiful and the whole ambience of the hotel was lovely.

This hotel has the personal touch of a small boutique, whilst having the service and facilities of a big hotel. The absolute best of both worlds. We were unfortunately only there one night and leaving for home the next morning, otherwise we may have extended our stay.

Nothing, it was great.

Solares is not a particularly attractive town (but the tapas bar La Tienda de Pedro Garcia is worth travelling many, many miles to find) but within the town is this wonderful hotel. The staff were fabulous, the rooms exceptionally good the breakfast wonderful and the gardens and setting quite lovely. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the ferry port and as a last night or first night stop well worth considering or even as a base to explore the richness of the immediate area. Most definitely a hotel to keep in the memory bank for hopefully many more visits.

Should have questioned cost of Gin & Tonic and Cafe con Letch that we paid for when booking out and was charged €11 . 73 no breakdown given on bill . Would appreciate reply on this matter .

Breakfast was superb, room was great and the pillows were so super comfy . Small private parking was great for our age it is difficult to manage cases too far .

The location isn't especially nice; the old palace is somewhat surrounded by taller apartment blocks, but it's very convenient for driving to Santander or walking to Solares' commercial area.

The bed was very comfy, the staff friendly and welcoming, the courtyard patio was beautiful and a nice place to have breakfast with our dog. On street parking was easy.
