Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

GermanyBeautiful location outside of Santiago de Compostela. Great staff, and a beautiful dog called Johann. As another user said: Trash your navigation system, ignore Google directions "and proceed to Melide-Agolada road, where the hotel is clearly signposted about 1-2 km from Agolada". When you enter into Eidian, turn right where a small open place is. That's the parking lot in front of the great entrance door (don't turn left...it'll take you 2km for finding a a turning-back possibility).

NorwayBathrooms were poorly ventilated so they built up moisture. Lots of trees and flowers so not suitable for someone with allergies (learned the hard way..).
Loved the beautiful gardens and the pond most of all. The pool was super lovely and so relaxing. The rooms were nice.

BelgiumIt is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Not always a bad thing. Beds can use some upgrade to improve qualitative nights.
Nice historical building, feels and looks like a medieval monastry. Clean rooms, pool and padel court. Optional diner and breakfast up to Galician standards. Decent proces. Very very friendly and helpful personnel.

Such a beautiful and relaxing location, with different areas depending on your mood and the weather. The garden is huge, so much room for children to run around. We made good use of the swimming pool and the padel court. Also there was the option to go out to eat or stay in. We had a delicious meal on the evening we ate in, and would highly recommend Restaurante Galicia in Agolada.

We were made very welcome. Despite being the only guests on our one night stay and the restaurant being closed, we were provided with a lovely three course evening meal with wine. Luz and Jesus really looked after us well. The property was great and we were really warm and cosy in such a grand granite built property. Thank you
