Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only downside is not having a toilet in your room but this wasn’t a problem for me.
Fantastic welcome from lady on reception, gave me information and map of what to visit etc. Room was clean, no window so a bit dim but perfectly fine. Comfortable bed , desk and chair. Great WI-FI. Easy access in and out of building. Had own private bathroom located just round the corner from my room. This was kept clean tidy during my stay. Plenty of hot water. Located on a quiet backstreet yet close to everything. Pensión was surprisingly quiet despite a regular turnaround of guests. Pensión has character and charm. A really lovely place to stay.

United StatesDark and small room. No amenities. The physical with live people check-in is from 14.00-17.00. Other than that you need to make arrangement with them before hand.
Can't beat the location only 5 minutes walk to the cathedral. Safe and secure facilities. Plenty to eat around.

ItalyThe only issue for us, which can not be the case for others, is that the bathroom was detached from the room. We stayed for two nights, so in the end it was not a big deal, however, it would have been difficult if our stay was longer. Our bathroom was private, and we had the key to it, I have to say it was just uncomfortable and lacked privacy.
Our stay was great! The location is 10/10, and everything was just a few minutes away. The room was very clean, and the instructions were perfectly clear. There was an AC, which is a big plus for the hot nights.

AustraliaUp a narrow staircase to reach the first floor room, but this was part of the charm rather than a problem.
A beautiful room in a traditional Pensione in the old city. Close to everything with easy access to restaurants and the Mesquita. Simple bathroom with lots of hot water. Two French windows opening over the street, busy in the day but quiet over night. Situated behind a music academy so lovely music playing during the day.

NetherlandsWe expect the room space could be more spacious
Within walking distance between the station and the Mezquita. Contactless check-in and helpful host, we can leave the luggage after check out (up to 14h) so we could visit the Mezquita effortlessly. Nice and "instagrammable" stay in Cordoba!

TaiwanIf you take a train or bus to Cordoba, it’s a little far from stations. But you can take city buses for shuttle.( Still take about 10 minutes to walk out the old town to a big street.) The lights in the room are too dim for me.
I have my own room and bathroom. They provide a towel for you. You can feel it’s not very new living, but It’s cozy enough. I like it.

HungaryIt is impossible to get closer than about 1km by car, due to traffic regulations. I had a rentacar, so I had to park it pretty far, and carry all my things to the facility in hand.
Nice interior.

Taiwan1. The most inconvenient thing: "They don't provide luggage storage!!!!" Please be aware if you have big luggage. I wouldn't have booked this stay if I had known this. If you plan to explore the town the next day after check out, you will need to find somewhere else to store your luggage/backpack, dragging them through the stone alleys. The front desk told us he'll be off after 2pm, that's why they didn't provide the service. ( However, he let us put the luggage there until 2, and then we came back to move them to another storage place in the town) 2. We arrived around 9pm and there wasn't anyone at the counter to help us check-in (Booking.com shows that the check-in time until 11 pm). We spent some time to ring the bell but no one answer, and then we called the host. Finally we got into the building after half an hour (they use key boxes). The next day morning, we met one person at the front desk, he said that the front desk will be off after 2 pm, and they don't put the information on booking.com. The place is more like airbnb for me. 2. Even though we maximize the power of the heater, we still felt cold. It wasn't that functional for us. 3. The building's power went out for an hour that night. It returned later.
The price is good. If you just stay one night and won't spend too much time in the hotel, you can consider this.
