Some staff in the restaurant, wasn't ready to answer my questions about the menu. They simply didn't want to understand or assist someone who's speaking only English.

Nice and friendly staff. Easy going and ready to help. Specially if I don't speak Spanish at all. Very clean room's. Good quality of food and it's was tasty. Good waiters, specially young man, whom was trying to speak English. He didn't avoid us and was happy to assist with every information I was needed. ( Not all staff in the restaurant was like him). Generally, I like the hotel, it's location and restaurant. Atmosphere of peace and quiet.

Well located, had a nice bar, restaurant adjacent with great meals. Very tidy and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Javiar was very helpful when I realised I had mislaid something vital to my stay. Resolved it.

Restaurant food was lovely, however floor staff presented as disinterested in ensuring that clients had everything they needed eg; no condiments offered, one meal was forgotten and no apology or acknowledgement of delay. Staff attempted to remove plates while clients were still eating.

Location and great value for money. Spotlessly clean and a great location. Easy access to transport for airport etc. Food was nice and 10% discount for residents.

Excellent location, right on the Camino and near everywhere you wanted to be, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the lady on reception couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, and a decent public restaurant on the ground floor. We stayed 2 nights and had a full day exploring the wonderful city that Santander is, and all round Hotel Picos de Europa couldn't have been a better choice

The hotels is at walking distance from the city center and the station; a taxi station just below the hotel to reach the airport fast. Numerous food stores in the vicinity.

It would be fine to get better instructions on how to use the amazing cafe/bar for delicious Spanish breakfast which was included in our rate. Just use the hotel corridor to get there without getting outside. Then you tell them your room number and choose 4 things you like. For example juice, cafe and a toast and something sweet. It's really a very smart solution and very delicious!

I was wondering why was this simple hotel so highly rated until I stayed there. It is simple but you have everything you need. It looks way worse on the pictures than in reality. Everything is new, simple, cosy. No problems with hot water or heating (via AC). Comfy and clean rooms. Nothing to complain about. When you arrive, you first see the cafe/bar with the same name, just use the passway next to it and you get to the hotel from the outside. BUT, you can get also to the hotel via the cafe/bar. Use the stairs and continue to the "background" of the cafe/bar and take another stairs and you arrive to the reception from the other side.

The food in the restaurant was very tasty, but could have included more choice in the evening. However, you get 10% discount on food whilst being a guest at the hotel, so this was good.

The room was very comfortable (standard double room), with a very spacious bathroom. Towels, shampoo, shower gel and hairdryer were provided as promised, which meant that I had more space in my luggage for other holiday items. The door and window opened onto a mini balcony, and kept the sounds of the city below quiet at night. The hotel itself is located about a 2 minute walk from local shops, and about a 5-10 minute walk away from the seafront, which was perfect.
