Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Costa RicaI was expecting the pool at least to be included with the fee. The morning was a bit noisy, there were kids playing on the hall and we hear them as if they were inside our room.
We are overall very satisfied with our stay at Hotel Arzuaga. The hotel's serene location amidst the picturesque vineyards and stunning natural beauty made for a truly relaxing retreat. The comfortable and well-appointed rooms provided a cozy haven after days spent exploring the charming countryside. We left with fond memories and a desire to return to this wonderful destination.

SpainThe TV is modern but small. Only Spanish TDT channels. In a 5-star hotel, I expected any OTT/cable content option and/or international channels.
Modern and comfortable room and great spa with quite options. Nice welcome red wine bottle (37,5cl) and wine cellar guided visit. Very kind staff.

NorwayDirty pools and windows in the spa. They called the spa a wine spa, but could only offer traditional treatments. No traces of wine treatments at all.

SpainThe bar and restaurant are quite far form the Hotel Reception. They could set in the garden area a cafeteria and then you could enjoy even better the surroundings.
Breakfast is decent and has all that is normally expected.

FranceSee above re distance to the restaurant which is a little dated . We only had an omelette but it was delicious!
Nice hotel and winery. A little off the beaten track but right in the middle of the Ribera del Duero wine region. Only issue was the long walk from the room to the bar and restaurant….

Spainlimited number of dishes for breakfast plus an ugly room where it happens. The reception is not very friendly, they ask you to fill out all forms yourself. I don’t remember when in a five-star hotel staff asked me to fill out any form myself. The soundproofing of the rooms is zero. It's like people are living in your room. You hear them discussing their family problems, going to the shower and toilet. The mattresses used are very cheap, when a person turns over in the second half, the mattress shakes heavily. In general, the rooms are poorly decorated, there is nothing on the walls except a TV. It’s 26 inches! TV is so tiny that it is uncomfortable to watch it from the bed. The hotel (its new part) resembles a typical downtown hotel, not a winery.

United KingdomSpa was not included, which is quite ridiculous for a 5 star hotel. Also breakfast service was really bad, or not existing I should say. Glasses and cutlery were not provided until we requested, a table was not available where we arrived, coffee was self served Nespresso, while in a 5 star you would expect proper bar service.
Location and restaurant. Rooms were also nice and comfortable. They managed to provide 2 separate beds as requested.

BelgiumThe breakfast. Terrible choice, cold cuts not kept under cold or covered so flies around them and dried up. We could not select anything. There was also an area where it seem one could cook with no cook, so we wonder if we had to go there to cook ourselves an egg. The atmosphere of the room very unwelcoming. Pity as the view from that room is fantastic but tables and chairs seem more apt for a camping site. The breakfast was overall a terrible experience. Nobody to really attend to you either. At the end when we saw one person we were able to ask why there was a frying pan on a cooker put over a table, like in a camping site, and whether there was a cook or we should cook ourselves the eggs. Not at all in line with this hotel prestige but more worth of a camping site, not even a motel.
Overall the hotel is great however it is appalling that you pay high fees for the night and they expect you to pay for access to the pool by half hours. Also breakfast is not even deserving a 1 star.

OmanThe AC was not working. We changed room twice. The bed was very uncomfortable. Complementary wine in the room is appreciated but they're not providing complimentary water bottles. Most of the staff was rude. The tour visit was pathetic. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

SpainYou could listen the noise of other rooms very loud! And besides, our room was on the “old” part of the hotel which means the access from the receptionist is not easy if you carry a big luggage, specially because there is no elevator to reach the last level until it gets to the room! But above all, the hotel staff attention was horrible! All of them seemed to be in a hurry, not providing information if not asked and when asked, very little information, which makes me feel frustrated as it is not a cheap hotel! And also makes me wonder how the hotel got the status it has! But if you go to visit only the restaurant, there it is worth each cent spent! The food and the wine are great and the waiters are simply very welcoming and attentive!
It is very comfort and clean

PortugalWe stayed in old part of the hotel. Too far away from reception and access no good (had to climb stairs with luggage). Old room. Make sure you stay in modern part of hotel. All SPA facilities have to be paid. Even pool has to be paid. If you announce yourself as a SPA hotel then some perks should be included.
