Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

ItalyRoom is a bit small which I imagine is normal. Could have been a bit cleaner. The quality for the price is not exactly in line but I think Paris is just quite expensive overall.
Good location, close to Blanche metro and Moulin Rouge. Monmarte neighbourhood. Tea and coffee in room and a bathroom with a tub. A little balcony.

United StatesI booked the room because it was listed as having air conditioning. We arrived late in the evening and wanted to turn on the AC to go to bed. It was only pushing out hot air. The young man who was working who was very kind and helpful, offered to give us a different room. We tried that one, but it was musty with no AC, so they put us in a larger room in the courtyard wo we could open our windows in the evening. The problem is that in April, the hotel or building owners still had their system on "winter" so no air conditioning. Very misleading. I would think in April, it should be considered Spring.

Nice location and was handy for getting about. Both reception staff I spoke to were really friendly and helpful, going out their way to assist me at times.

United StatesFelt a little grungy at entry, listed free coffee and tea in lobby is wrong (€2 keurig), rougher neighborhood than thought, no drain stopper in sink just empty hole.
Close to metro, accommodated three people in a room with a triple, kind staff, comfy beds, pretty view out the back. Tv didn’t work with the remote- I mentioned it and we were set up with whole new tv on first day, quick service and very nice about things.

The staff were lovely. The room itself was clean but very dated especially the bathroom. Whilst it was all functioning and useable the decor was very dated, tiles were chipped and cracked and the bottom of the wooden bathroom door was damaged. I’m not sure if the steam and condensation from the room had made it soft and damaged it but the bottom part of the bathroom side of the door was missing.

United KingdomI wasn't expecting a sloped floor to the shower and nearly had a bad fall. Perhaps this needs a warning sign or stronger lighting. It is quite a petty thing, but the cleaner took away the bar soap when it was used only once which seemed a bit wasteful.
The location near Place Blanche was perfect for the various trips I made during my stay: good for access to main line stations and for walking to central Paris. I liked the postion of my room on the upper floor overlooking the courtyard; it was quiet and there was a cooling breeze in the evening. The staff were all welcoming and cheerful.

NetherlandsIt was hard to sit on the bed as a result of the placement of the reading lights. The breakfast as such was good enough, but too expensive (12 euros) for what it offered.
The beds were of good quality and clean. The windows could open without getting too much noise from outside. The location is very nice, with many affordable restaurants and bars available very nearby.
