Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe weather.
We LOVED the stunning art on show in the hotel and the beautiful interiors. We arrived after a 16 hour drive from London, exhausted with two tired, hot dogs. The hotel had preprared dog bows, treats and dog blanket - the cutest. The hotel managed to squeeze us in for last orders in the restaurant and the food was excellent, service brilliant and we had drinks in the cloisters courtyard afterwards. Followed by a walk under the stars and a peak over the hotel's garden wall across the beautiful city of Lyon. In the morning I discovered Roman ruins next to the hotel in the form of an old amphitheatre and the Notre Dame Cathedral which has to be one of the most beautiful I have seen.

LuxembourgThe beds were short and narrow. For tall people, the feet sticks out! We had no place to dry our pool towels so adding a place to hang them would be good. It surprised me that the hotel reserved a huge amount on my credit card upon arrival, be aware that they reserve an additional 100 euro per day for potential consumption that you may have during your stay (drinks, dinner etc).
Lovely place to stay for a real holiday. Beautiful building with courtyard where you can have excellent breakfast/dinner. Swimming pool (shape of a swimming lane) in the garden with chairs to sit and bar service. Room had separate shower room and WC. The area is touristy due to closeness of historical sites, but the hotel is inside a walled garden and very calm. Walking distance to funicular going to old town, to bus stops and lovely restaurant Bulle overlooking the city.

United KingdomRooms were basic - I stayed in 2 rooms whilst I was there. First room didn’t have a kettle or tea making facilities. Quite surprising at the cost! It was very basic. Second room on second floor was very hot as the air con was in the hallway and didn’t even reach the bedroom!! Complete design fault. Staff were helpful and friendly. It was very clean. Super pool area and spa. Didn’t eat at hotel so can’t comment.
Beautiful location out of the city but walking distance, pool and spa area were great. Lovely hotel architecturally.

United KingdomWould rather have stayed on the 1 st floor with a room with higher ceiling. 2nd floor rooms although very nice we’re slightly to hot.
We loved the location and building being set in a quiet part of Lyon. The hotel has been beautifully decorated with slightly more retro touches which we liked. The spa facility was very much welcomed after a busy day exploring Lyon. We really enjoyed the pool even during the heavy rain. Breakfast was very good too and actually good value for money. Only point I would raise the scrambled eggs could be less runny. We opt for other things instead so did not have any eggs in the end with plenty of other options on offer. Rooms on the 2 floor slightly too hot so would recommend to request a room on the first floor instead with higher ceiling. Overall experience was a pleasant one and would come back again.

SingaporeWe felt the staff had unfortunately decreased the quality of our stay. Some requests at the restaurant were fulfilled after several reminders, a meal served cold after the nice young man had forgotten about it over 15 minutes, etc. Last day at checkout they made a huge exception for us to stay next to the pool for a couple extra hours and have a lengthy explanation about how it would otherwise get crowded. Well, I was the one and only person at the pool the whole time, just negatively impressed with their initial « no » to this request that is standard practice elsewhere. Drop this rule that will always hold back client satisfaction especially as there is no real valid reason behind.
Amazing breakfast, charming minimalist rooms, impressive conserved and respected interiors of the building. I absolutely loved the atmosphere.

United KingdomThe pool is so busy at the weekend it is unpleasant, no where near enough seating. The rooms are very basic for the price and a 4* rating. Our air con was pretty rubbish as was the tv remote. Everything is very expensive in the hotel and parking was so overpriced. We asked if they could help us celebrate as we got engaged a day before our arrival, was disappointed by the response offering very little and asking for an extra €50 for it. Wouldn’t return.
Building is beautiful and the pool area was great during the week. Food was delicious in the restaurant but very expensive.

ItalyPrice for parking is very high at 17€ per night and if you don’t stay at the hotel the rate is 12€ per day for the same parking space, but since we were staying we had to pay the per night price. No explanation was given why a 24h per night price was different to a 24h per day price. Bookings says all taxes and fees are included but you need to add 2.5€ city tax per guest per night.
Location and spa access are the best things about the place, the building also looks very nice.

United KingdomRoom is basic - not standard of a four state hotel. Cleaning staff incredibly loud in the mornings and woke us up every morning with noise. Pool was okay - too crammed. Breakfast was chaos, too busy and food set up way to close to seating area so everyone was on top of eachother, okay variety - decided it was not worth the money for the following morning.
The building is stunning, we loved eating outside in the courtyard! The bar has a fantastic cocktail menu and we enjoyed the restaurant. Staff in restaurant very attentive and lovely! Staff at check in desk lovely and attentive!
