Old buildings will have their challenges, so I guess the spiral style staircase, would make the hotel not an ideal choice to anyone with mobility issues , or bad knees etc .

Le Boulevardier, is a lovely quirky hotel , in a fantastic city centre location. The room was lovely, it was very quiet, and the breakfast in the morning was nice and served with a smile. It is nice sometimes to stay somewhere with a bit of local personality and history, rather than a major global hotel group , with a big lobby and lifts !

It was slightly overpriced for the services included, however the location is indeed awesome.

The location of the hotel is amazing. It is 5-minutes far away from the city hall. Breakfast was pretty good, with one croissant, tea or coffe, and a buffet for jam, fruits, and breads. The room was spacious, with one small toilet cabinet and one bathroom with shower and sink. I had double bed and a small table. WI-FI was good.

We liked the location. rooms were small but clean. We didnt meet any staff as a self check in. Perfect location. Not somewhere for a romantic night just a night out and sleep.

Shower was broken and didn’t drain away when using. Was an odd place with random toys on the walls and in corridors. Price was no doubt increased for Rugby World Cup time.

There were all circular staircases to drag yourself snd your luggage up and down. Thid is not a place for those who have any mobility issues at all.

A lovely, quirky hotel - the oldest in Lyon apparently! Very central - great for exploring on foot! The room was clean and the shower hot!

The reception/cafe area was not very warm and breakfast had to be pre-booked, as it was collected each morning from the local bakery. The stairs are very steep! The wifi on 2nd floor was not always available.

The decor in the hotel was quirky and the retention of the old medieval features was lovely. The bathroom was well lit and the room had interesting decorations. Communication with the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful arranging a taxi to the airport when we were hit with a general strike. It is centrally located and close to wonderful bars and restaurants.

There was no elevator and we were on the third floor, with bags. Not the best for people with reduced mobility. Breakfast was ok, but didn't have a lot of variety.
